We (8 friends) just returned from vacationing at the Hotel Riu Jalisco in Mexico. The Hotel is very nice, however when you have a problem no one wants to help. Here's our situation: On Friday July 18, 2008 it was discovered that 3 of our 4 rooms were violated and money stolen from two of the rooms. This happened between... more

My girlfriend and her family and I stayed at the Riu Jalisco from July 4th to July 7th. We booked our vacation through MLT Vacations. Overall, it was a nice stay for our short time there. Nuevo Vallarta is a nice area and we chose to come back to the area and try another hotel. We took a cab from... more

After a long flight we were allocated room 4162 which was located right above the bar and reception, with the constant noise and kids running and shouting in the hallways ( which is a constant thing ), we literally couldnt sleep. We changed rooms the following day which was room 4143 which was a little quieter. The main problem in... more

Have just returned from this hotel after two very good weeks. Room on 6th floor with great views and air con! Only complaint I had was the "ADULT" pool which was permanently full of kids. On one day it was also full of faeces from two kids, one of which was taken back onto the pool to have the mess... more

Let me start by saying my husband & I booked this trip 3 days in advance so I may be partly to blame for not doing more research. This is not a 4 star hotel as mention under FUNJET vacations . It's a 21/2-3 star. The hotel structure is nice the staff is wonderful and the waiters, waitresses and bartenders... more

This was not my first time to travel to Mexico so I have an idea of what to expect. When we arrived at the Riu Jalisco my room was ready but my father's wasn't. We were told it would be ready in an hour but it wasn't. They keep putting it off. When we finally went up to our rooms... more

We booked this hotel for our Honeymoon June 30-July 6. When we first arrived, we LOVED it because we had never been to Mexico before and it was our first experience with an all-inclusive. My opinion of Riu Jalisco dwindled throughout the week, but we still had an amazing vacation. The worst part about the hotel was the food. My... more

This was our first trip to Mexico and we were really looking forward to 2 weeks of sun, sea and relaxtion. Arrival at airport was quite smooth, we were greeted outside by our Reps and given a lovely cold Corona. On arrival at Hotel, it looks very grand outside and the reception was very nice, everything at check in went... more

Be aware all Mexico travelers...the summer months are rain season and high local tourism. We were unaware of these things and will never go back to Mexico at this time. We will never stay here again. RIU Jalisco was a horrible experience; we lasted there for only two nights. First, when you walk into the hotel room, the smell of... more

The Resort- THe rooms are very clean and the shower and bathrooms are nice as well. No musty smell in room unless you leave the balcony door open all day. The grounds are pretty, lots of palm trees and flowers. The hotel itself was a nice hotel. The Beach- Well the waves were great. They were huge when we went... more
