I had the pleasure of staying at McGee's over the Canada Day long weekend this year. What a fantastic place to be. My room was outstanding, charmingly decorated, immaculately clean and wonderfully comfortable. The Armstrongs hosted an amazing bbq on Canada day for guests and family. The Inn is ideally located in a beautiful neighborhood, a short walk to the... more

Stayed here for 2 nights in The John McGee Room and had a great time. We arrived, paid the balance of our bill and was shown to our room, asked what time we wanted breakfast and that was pretty much the only contact we had with the owners. Not unfriendly at all and it was nice to just be left... more

For a Bed & Breakfast I would have preferred a friendlier atmosphere! I did not feel the owners to be welcoming at all; in fact a hotel would have been more inviting, and it is for this reason that I would not recommend staying in this B&B. Also, I did not feel safe walking around the surrounding area, especially at... more

This establishment a preserved historic home in a great location. It is in a quiet neighbourhood but only a 3 minute walk to the downdown district and tourist attractions( i.e. Parliament Hill, Byward Market, Rideau Centre, Sparks St. Mall). It is family owned and operated, providing friendly and personal service. Parking is on site and free of charge. The room... more

We had a terrific stay here. Our room was on the 3rd floor (Windsor), air-conditioner, comfy bed and very quiet. The breakfast choices were considerable...3 hot dishes prepared to order as well as cold cereal, yogurt, fruit, muffins, etc. The Inn looked like it had recently been spiffed up...newly painted rooms, freshly landscaped front yard. The location is near the... more

This is a well kept comfortable bed and breakfast in a quiet neighborhood. I requested and got a beautiful third floor quiet room - with the exception of noise from the ceiling fan in the room below. The owners were very helpful. more

My husband and I stayed at the Inn for our wedding night and the night after. We had a wonderful time. We had debated about staying at the Westin or the Chateau Laurier (two posh hotels downtown), but stumbled upon the Inn. We stayed in room 20, a wonderfuly decorated room with a kingsize bed, fireplace and double jacuzzi tub... more

I stayed at the inn with my mum, and we both enjoyed our stay tremendously. We were taking a nice, relaxing weekend away, and this was the perfect setting to do so. The hosts were incredibly friendly and gracious, and provided us with a fantastic, and very filling breakfast in the morning. Our room was spacious, well appointed and very... more

We stayed at Mcgees for two nights recently in room 11. The room was ok it was well priced but there was a crack on the window, old style airconditioning through window and the curtains fell off when we tried to close them. Nice breakfasts: crepes or eggs and sausage and fruit, a lovely sitting area and pleasant owners. We... more

This inn has been bought this year by an extended family -- parents, son, and daughter-in-law. That means there is always someone available to take care of guests. It is located very conveniently and centrally but is on a quiet street. The rooms vary in size but are all nicely decorated; two have outside porches. Breakfast was muffins, bagels, juice... more
