My husband and I, with our two adult children, stayed for two nights at the Relais Charles Alexandre, We had driven from Montreal in a hire car and found the hotel very easily from the main highway. The receptionist (young man) spoke English to us. We hadn't reserved a car parking space but that wasn't a problem. The cost of... more

Nice inn about a ten minute walk from the old city gate. A few blocks from the battlefield park. In addition to the restaurants on Grand Allee, there are shops and restaurants on Rue Cartier, 2 blocks past the hotel. We had a room off the lobby, which I thought would be noisy, but was actually not. Staff was friendly.... more

My partner & I drove up to Quebec City from our Vermont home to celebrate our 17th anniversary and we stayed at this hotel for the first 3 days of our 7 day stay. Because the reviews and recommendations were so varied and we had never been to QC before we decided to split up our visit between 2 hotels.... more

We were thoroughly disappointed by this hotel. Don't get me wrong, its location is great, just in front of the Plains of Abraham and a 10 minute walk from the town, but the quality of the accommodations and the friendliness of the staff were far from acceptable. Where to begin? Well, we did arrange parking so after a few minutes... more

I came here with three other friends. The Relais was recommended by our auberge in Montreal. The price was right and the location excellent. It does require some walking but that was not a problem for us. As we checked in, the others were given the keys to the rooms and I got the dreaded room 23. ( I had... more

As the taxi drew up we felt the hotel was all we had hoped. However our greeting by the receptionist (who had little English) was concerned with the immediate production of our credit card. We were then left to find our room and lugged our two largish cases up a steep and narrow staircase to a room at the back.... more

I put some time into finding just the right hotel for a 4 day vacation my wife and I planned to Quebec city without the children. The Relais Charles-Alexandre had a great location and the price was right. The reviews I read were quite promising too. However the room we got was really terrible and since the hotel was small... more

First, let me say, before booking any B&B in Quebec be sure they have an elevator or beware. Stairs are very narrow and steep. Keep the luggage small and light. As for this particular B&B, it was very pleasant and clean. We had room 22 -very nice- our friend had room 20 but hated it - they were both superior... more

Loved just about everything about this hotel. Recently renovated and spotlessly clean, it felt new yet homey and warm. The lobby was cute, with local art hanging on the wall. The staff was extremely amicable. Breakfast and parking were included in the room's price. Very good location slightly outside the old city (10 minute walk--no problem), it's close to the... more

My husband and I stayed here for 5 nights from the end of April. The 28th was my 50th birthday and I could not have spent it in a better hotel and city. We loved it. I chose this inn based on the reviews I read here and everything proved true. The staff are wonderful even though short-handed at the... more
