We stayed at the Super 8 South Lake Tahoe having made a quick reservation online, worrying that everything would be booked up. The Super 8 makes a decent presentation from the road, the office is not bad. This hotel is a franchise, operated by an independent contractor. It is run down, to say the least. For the price they charge, it should be in much better shape. I stayed here in January 2006 with my girlfriend. The room was large, and decently clean. But the entire hotel is rather run-down and depressing, and completely needs to be renovated. The best part of the hotel was the hot tub, which was perfect after a day of snowboarding at Sierra. I wouldn't stay here again though. more

I have stayed in Super 8 with my daughter. First of all, they gave us a room that was literally on the highway - this hotel is next to Highway 50. Avoid the rooms 101-110, 201-210, 150-155, 250-255. Checked in for our hotel rooms around 7:30pm and found only 3 rooms available. 2 of the 3 rooms were next to each other, so we took it. It was on the ground floor near the playground area.
