I booked this hotel for 2 nights for a snowboarding trip to Heavenly. This was my second time at this hotel. After reading all the negative reviews on TripAdvisor and on Expedia I was preparing for the worst but I found these reviews completely unwarranted. After staying at this motel for the second time in 2 years, I will happily... more

This place is terrible. We picked one of the cheapest places, close to the border so we would have an easy walking access to Heavenly and to Casinos. First, this hotel has vibrating beds. I have never seen one before, and for a quarter, you get 15 minutes of fun. If you are into that sort of thing. Personally, I... more

We had booked this hotel for 2 nights of the weekend preceeding Martin Luther King Day. We paid $223 which seemed to be the going rate at most motels in the area for that weekend. On arrival at about 4 in the afternoon we were greeted by the owner, a singularly unhelpful and surly person. The hotel from the outside... more

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE POLICE DEPARTMENT HAS THIS MOTEL UNDER SURVALIANCE. We were staying on the 2nd floor, there is a small window with no latch or lock near the shower in the bathroom, after dark I decided to take a shower, I closed the window before I got in the shower, and when I got out the window was wide... more

During our two-day stay there, the "Will be back" clock sign had been on for several times, and the manager was never really back on time. I could understand: he just had a heart surgery recently. He walked and talked in such a way that even asking for a room with a heater from him made me felt that I... more

This motel should have been called "The Tahoe Peasants", instead of The Tahoe Queen. We were greated at the parking lot by the owner (I'm assuming) who was rushing us because he had something "important" to do, which turned out to be a bidding war on Ebay. We were then told to go inside and sign-in; we entred and met... more

The room was freezing and they gave you the thinnest, oldest blankets to sleep with (it was like sleeping between two sheets of tissue paper) My friend and I slept with her skiis wedged against the door since there is only a flimsy "push-button" lock on the door--no latch. Also, the bathroom window didn't have lock on it. The clientele... more

Stayed here weekend of January 28, 2005, and room heat was very unreliable, with interior temperatures as low as 55. Worst yet, getting the owner to get the heat working was very unpleasant. Once, when asked if the heating unit was on, owner replied "do you want me to stay here and stand over it?" External temperature in teens at... more

the owners will watch you like a hawk. the office is the owner's home and it has full view of all the hotels. he will be watching your every move, so becareful of what you do. in addition, the rooms are very dirty and old. it was quite inexpensive, but you really get what you pay for. i do not... more
