Stayed here as part of a birthday celebration for a long weekend and was genuinely sorry to leave. Bar snacks, restaurant dinner, room service and dining room breakfasts were all excellent. Little touches such as complementary chocolates in the room were much appreciated. The service was exemplary: nothing was too much trouble and the staff were, without exception, friendly and... more

We stayed one night at the Mariott. I was a bit aprehensive as I had stayed there some years ago and my memory was that it was a bit impersonal and overpriced. On this occasion the room was nice, with a good bathroom and comfortable bed. No view but then we were only there one night. Parking was difficult as... more

We've stayed at this centrally located hotel more than once, and on each occasion, it improves. They are renovating all the rooms, and some are mid-renovation. According to their website, the renovation will be completed this year. Check in was easy at the front lobby, which boasts two side lounges for entertaining. The lounge to the right of reception has... more

It got off to a good start when I called them and asked if they have secure onsite parking (my car is a rare classic). Yes, they said, of course we have secure onsite parking. On arrival we parked ousite the hotel to ask for directions to the "secure" car park. After the reception staff decided that discussing who had... more

We stayed in the Bristol Marriott previously and had a slightly sub-standard experience, so this time we thought we would try out the 'Royal' instead. We were not disappointed. Extremely luxurious interiors, pleasantly obsequious staff ("Good morning, ma'am") and gorgeous rooms made our stay memorable. Our room was spacious and well-appointed, with two double beds (one for us, one for... more

We stayed for 2 nights at the Bristol Royal in May for a luxurious weekend treat. The hotel itself was very nice - impressive decor, spotlessly clean with a gorgeous vaulted restaurant and a lovely pool. Our room wasn't massive and we looked over an inner courtyard which was a bit grim, but it was decorated to a high standard... more

We had stayed in Bristol a couple of years before but wanted a more upmarket hotel this time. We foudn a good deal and managed to have a 2 night stay with breakfast for under £200 for the both of us. The hotel was situated behind to the waterfront bars and a short walk from the city centre shops and... more

We came down for the Harbour Festival and got the Harbour Festival rate which was B&B with a packed lunch on the Saturday. Its a gorgeous hotel that lived up to all it purports to be. Right in the city centre so within walking distance of everywhere. The staff were friendly and efficient and always smilng! The rooms were spacious... more

Wow - I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough We booked a last minute stay here in Bristol for little more than a Travelodge - £106 inc VAT and breakfast - and simply could not believe the five star feel this hotel had! The lobby and public rooms were plush, the underground pool lovely, the room was fresh (I think... more

We stayed in this hotel in August 2007 the week this hotel had major scheduled air-conditioning refurbishment. It was hell. My complain letter was replied by P.A. to GM which quote "Unfortunately the works had been scheduled some time out from August last year and we had not anticipated the British weather to have been so good...". it is August... more
