Having read the reviews we were not expecting much, but on arrival we were let in and secured a parking space without any problems. The Lady in the office was very polite and helpful. Overall we had a very pleasant stay and our room was clean and comfortable. I got the impression that the owners are aware of the negative... more

We booked to stay at Regency Guest House but then read reviews on trip advisor and other sites and decided to cancel the booking and stay somewhere else. It took a number of phonecalls and emails to the booking company and the guest house before we got a refund. Eventually, the day before we were due to stay there (and... more

First, some positives. The location is excellent, near the city centre and colleges and not far from the railway station. The breakfasts are adequate but hardly memorable. The office staff are friendly, if they're there, and that's one of the problems. Unless you know the code for opening the front door, you can't get in. We stood in freezing weather,... more

This is easily the worst accommodation I have come across in a hotel. Curtains worn and with holes, scuffed and dirty paintwork; the whole room was grubby. Carpet was filthy. The bed was clean with fresh linen but the room smelt and the windows were filthy. I walked out, I'm afraid. more

This Guest House is very central, the coffee was good and the bed I had was comfortable. But the place presented a scruffy appearance inside, hospitality was lacking and cleaning was barely adequate. The breakfast offered was well below expectation and was neither a 'full English breakfast' nor a sufficient continental breakfast. For the price charged - £82 double en-suite... more

This place is terrible - and I mean TERRIBLE! The website claims "visitors car park is charged at £2.00 per day" and when we asked where the carpark was, we were told there wasn't one and we should just park in the pub carpark next door which had a sign stating "for pub customers only". The manager then asked us... more

We were very disappointed with this rather run-down guest house. The owner was not present on our arrival even though we gave him a time - we got the access code after contacting him by phone and we were told to pick our keys up from his offfice desk (a picture of disorganisation) but one of the keys was nowhere... more

Get high at the Regency, we asked for the top room with a balcony over looking the park, absolutely perfect view for a glass of wine before heading into town. It’s a shame we didn’t make it for breakfast, but was generally very impressed with the hotel and service more

The location is great. The room that I was in was fine. The bathroom was OK. And the breakfast was standard. The price was a little bit more than I paid for comparable places, although that may be because Cambridge is expensive. Overall, the place was OK, but had a good location and was a bit expensive. more
