I did a lot of research through the internet to find a hotel in Torquay to take my active but elderly parents for a weeks stay. We booked for 3 nights but wished it had been 3 weeks! Very welcoming hosts- nothing too much trouble, homecooked food was amazing and the room was spotlessly clean. This hotel goes the "extra mile"- little extras in the room- attention to detail. Highly recommended for all ages- particularly good with children. We will definitely be going back next year.... more

We've just returned from a wonderful 7 night stay at The Westgate Hotel. This is the first time we have stayed at a family run hotel (usually we use Premier Inns, Travelodges etc) and we are glad we did. Paul & Lorraine, the owner operators were very welcoming, friendly and helpful. The room and the hotel was spotlessly clean throughout.... more

Went here to celebrate our fiftieth wedding anniversary having spent our honeymoon in Torquay in 1958. Excellent hotel, spotless and comfortable. Very friendly and helpful hosts would definately return to this hotel. more

we stayed at the westgate hotel on business for 2 nights. and it was although on business, the most relaxing 2 nights that we have had in any hotel. we are in the hotel business ourselves and would like to take his oppertunity to thank paul & lorraine for a relaxing 2 night stay . carry on the good work.... more

Myself, wife and 1 year old daughter have just returned from a 2 night break at the Westgate Hotel in Torquay. We normally stay in Hilton, Crowne Plaza or Marriott hotels but decided on a local hotel in the area. Paul and Lorraine (the owners) are without doubt the friendliest and best hosts at a hotel that we have ever... more

My husband and I stayed at The Westgate for a long weekend whilst in Torquay for a family wedding. We could not fault The Westgate. The owners made us feel welcome. Stayed here for 4 days in February, warm welcome, spotless rooms and fantastic food. this is all supported by a quiet location close to everything in torquay. Lorraine and Paul ensure that your stay is enjoyable and that everthying is "spot on". Must be the best run hotel in torquay, we cant see how you could better it. We would... more
