Absolutley terribe. Room 18 smelt of sewage, pillows were all stained and smelt. kept awake all night bed very lumpy and uncomfortable. 5.30 am went to see night porter to complain he couldn't do anything until manager came on duty. Moved to another room this was only adiquate.some staff very araogan. Food only just edible. Thank goodness for Monkey World... more

The Hotel was very pleasant and friendly! There was a beautiful swimming pool with bathing area, the hotel is central to all amenities and the staff went out of their way to help us. We did stay in a top room with panoramic sea view, however I would say some of the decorating needs attending to in the top corridors.... more

Going to Bournemouth every year since I was 5, and visiting the Bournemouth International Hotel every year since 2001, this is by far the best hotel my family and I have ever stayed in. The food is great, the views from the windows fantastic; sea views for no additional price! The staff are really friendly and are always approachable, making... more

I have stayed in hundreds of hotels but nothing I've experienced over the years could have prepared me for the horrors of the Bournemouth International Hotel. It was only when I got to Room 30 of this establishment that I discovered why the hotel is called the International. It's because international smoking competitions are held here - and when the... more

Having read this review I had a detailed look at room 30. I cannot agree with any of the comments. The room is a family room with a double and two singles, it has a bright and clean bathroom. The bedspread is fairly new and does not have any cigarette burns. Since the smoking ban we have been a totally...

On arrival it looks tired,.polite helpful staff, diningroom looks good, clean and welcoming, breakfast good, service good. outside area needs alot of attention(get the pool cleaned and some nice garden furniture ) Bar is awfull, tired ,old and uninviting. Other room downstairs had wallpaper hanging from the ceilings obviously left after a water disaster but not a resent one! carpets are dirty and thread... more

I could not believe some of these comments refer to the hotel my family have visited for summer holidays for the last 15 years.Yes some of the rooms are small with dated furniture but not all. Some rooms are spacious with balconies and amazing sea views. I have always found the staff from the cleaners to the owners to be... more

We stayed at the BIH over the Easter weekend due to a friends birthday being held here on the Saturday. After reading the various reviews I have to be honest and say we were not looking forward to it . However we had a great time! The hotel was clean and tidy, our room was adequate and what we would... more

Great stay. The food is very good quality, the building and my room were all of top quality actually and I don't know why there are so many bad reviews. My room had been recently renovated and it was done very well. The prices are also fairly good. The only bad point is the outside area. The building could also... more

A 'friend' made the booking and we arrived first. First impression: Staggeringly Awful. We walked round the common areas including the dance floor which had a pile of car tyres and wheels in the corner! The bar was grim and so was the common sitting area. So we asked to see our room, which was equally bad. We went down... more

This review was written by someone who did not stay. I would dispute the remark "Staggeringly Awful" we are not! This person arrived to check in, but decided to walk around the public areas before signing in. It was a quiet day and we were taking the oportunity to sort out items in storage that we were disposing off. The...

I stayed here for two nights during the recent Labour Party Conference. The hotel was well positioned for that, but that was about the only good thing. The single room was tiny, without a surface even to set up a small laptop. The carpet was stained and dirty with 'bits' on the floor (do they ever vacuum?). There was a... more

This guest probably did have a room too small for his needs, but you must bear in mind that during events such as the Labour Party Conference demand for rooms far outstrips supply. If this guest needed somewhere quiet to work he would have been welcome to use one of our offices together with a broadband connection. At this stage...
