It started with the booking. The hotel wouldn't accept a single Saturday night booking but bizarrely this is possible through a well known website. Unfortunately not all our party realised this so we were split up. Disinterested staff, 60's exterior, 60's service, erratic breakfast service, it was poor. In area with many lovely, characterful pubs with rooms, B&B's etc do... more

I was visiting family back in April with my Partner, I booked this Hotel as it was the only one that suited my price range in the area. I contacted the hotel direct to make my booking, I had no problems making this and the lady I spoke to on the phone was very helpful and made it very easy.... more

As per the other reviews, this place hasn't changed since the 1970's (when I used to stay there). The place has the feel of a cheap motel, OK if you just want a place to sleep (and be fed), but I would not recommend as a base for a special trip or occasion. There were hints of overdue maintenance. For... more

We booked our stay online, price is reasonable. Then we got there and our opinion went straight down. We were the last people to check in that night at 8pm and at first we were given a twin room, after the initial shock my husband complained at reception, and we eventually got the upgraded double we paid for. On arrival... more

Rooms are very drab and beds not paricularly comfortbale, but its cheap, and on that aspect it is therefore difficult to whinge for that sort of money. Depends what you are looking for as to whether to stay there or not! more

Room clean and recently refurbished in parts ,but bathroom door did not close due to leak from above.Breakfast grim apart from the cereals and toast.Staff disinterested and unhelpfull. The Hotel is in a 1970's time warp and in need of general upgrading. The smoking area was a narrow corridor which all guests had to walk through in order to get to their... more

Booked in for one night to be close to Yeovil for a meeting. The hotel is a little dated but does offer very good value for money. The room was ideal for a single traveller. Double bed was good. Buffet breakfast was fresh and well cooked and the biggest bonus was the big car park ( which was free). I... more

The design of the Sherborne hotel is drab and uninspiring. (unless you like the 70's look). The staff are equally uninspiring -everything is too much trouble. I stayed here for the Ironman UK triathlon and even though this was a great opportunity to encourage more future visits the Sherborne hotel made very little effort. I assume that Sherborne has agreed... more
