Do not stay here if you appreciate good service. There are plenty of places in Cheltenham, I'm sure that are much more pleasant, keep looking and you will find them. Don't do what we did. We were recommended this hotel by another fully booked hotel in Cheltenham, who reassured us that, the 'management had changed'. This was reassuring as a... more

A lovely building, great location for town centre --but not for traffic levels as it is close to junctions and fairly close to traffic lights. Do not stay in the top floor rooms, which, it seems like other guest rooms, have no double glazing. The bedrooms are comfortable, and clean. The main problem is the lack of hospitality (see other... more

I have just returned from a fabulous weekend in Cheltenham where I took my husband to The Lypiatt Hotel for a surprise birthday treat. The hotel is located in the up market area of Cheltenham known as Montpellier and is very accessible to local restaurants and shops. The Lypiatt exudes both luxury and comfort, the traditional Georgian architecture is complimented... more

WE had the privilege to revisit Cheltenham last week and decided to go back to the Lypiatt Hotel. We were very pleasantly impressed with the new refurbishments and all the new decor. We can honestly say that the hotel is now better than any other hotel we have stayed in in th past years. The service was very good and... more

My husband & I stayed at Lypiatt House in early July. The owner, Robert greeted us and showed us to our room, which was nice. His wife never introduced herself. The problem we had was during breakfast our first morning. We made the mistake of asking for egg whites since we both watch our cholesterol. He took the order and... more

We stayed at Lypiatt House for a long weekend, and had a great time. The hotel is clean and neat, the bedroom (although quite small) was in very good condition and the bathroom was very impressive. Breakfast was really good - a very large selection of fruit in addition to a full cooked breakfast. We thought the breakfast room and... more

I stayed here in early 2006 and wouldn't seek out an opportunity to stay here again. I was surprised at how brusque the owners/operators were. They were unwilling to help us arrange for a cab (which is apparently not a trivial task depending on the time of day). While they cook a good breakfast, the gentlemen doing it was pretty... more

We stayed at the Lypiatt House Hotel this past weekend and had a very nice stay. The owners were very friendly and I was able to make a very last minute reservation. Our room was very large with a very up-to-date and clean bathroom. The bed was VERY comfortable and the room had beautiful, huge windows that let lots of... more

We stayed for three nights. Location is good for walking to numerous restaurants. Adequate parking spaces in front for guests. Our room was very large with bathroom up four steps. Towels changed daily. Breakfast was very good but we both had poached eggs and toast every day. Excellent coffee. We arrived in morning and they had us check in then.... more

We had two rooms on the top floor and paid £65 each room with full breakfast on a special rate via the Cheltenham TIC. The house is beautiful and immaculately kept - a credit to the owners. All the furnishings are delightful, in keeping with the house but with a contemporary twist. There were fresh flowers everywhere, very nice touch.... more
