Booked The Royalist for a special birthday treat. It turn out super and the staff were very helpful. The hotel goes back in history quite away but the rooms very much up to modern standards, warm and comfortable. Breakfast was everything one would expect and the evening meals divine. Our stay was saved by the friendliness of the Staff. the room was vastly overpriced for what it was. Drinks are also pricey. Extractor fans go off in the middle of the night to wake you and keep you awake. I don't recommend staying. more

Old but charming and clean. The rooms were a nice size. We had 3 rooms and all were newly decorated. The hotel is very old and has many meandering hallways. A little confusing but interesting.
