Having stayed in many Johansens-recommended hotels and wondered just what their "inspector" was looking at, it is good to be able to find one that does justify its rating. This is an excellent small hotel and only a couple of minor issues prevent it from being one of the best small hotels I have stayed in. Arrival was sunday afternoon... more

The views will take your breathe away. The rooms are wonderful, ask for room 3 with the ghost, the restaurant is first class. Very relaxed feel to the property and staff. Great manor house feel and wonderful history that has been well maintained. more

My wife and I stayed at this hotel in November 2006. The hotel is rather difficult to find but worth the effort. I suggest you follow the hotels detailed directions available on their website. The building is a lovely 18th century mansion, but not to large as to be imposing. The Gardens are superb and the views of the Golden... more

We booked a weekend at the Burleigh Court based on the other reviews - and we were not disappointed. The gardens and views are outstanding - sadly it rained most of the weekend but we could imagine sitting on the terrace with a nice glass of wine overlooking the valley !! The coach house rooms cater for dogs and overlook... more

The booking was made to celebrate my wife's sixtieth birthday. Our party consisted of our son and daughter and their partners, my wife and myself. We arrived at lunchtime on Friday and were immediately impressed by the hotel and its stunning location. It was a warm sunny afternoon and we ordered sandwiches, and drinks which arrived promptly and were served... more

A bit like staying in a very rich friend's English Country house, Burleigh Court was a stunning find set on a hill overlooking a steep Cotwold valley. Our room was on a corner with a valley view to one side, a garden view to the other (tulips in bloom) and a nice bottle of Sherry on the table. Bar service... more

Have just returned from a wonderful stay at Burleigh Court. We would totally endorse the previous review. Maggie - the owner - was there for the evening of our stay and was so friendly and welcoming. One of her staff was away in New Zealand and she was totally immersed in making sure the guests were catered for and explained... more

Excellent hotel but a little pricey for a family. Superb location looking out over Stroud and within the Cotswolds. Spotlessly clean and friendly, attentive staff (owner Maggie a real pleasure). Restaurant very, very good with high quality food presented with great imagination in a lovely room. Bedroom (superior room) quite large and beautifully decorated. All in all a pleasure! more
