We stayed here in August and had a clean comfortable room in a pleasant park like setting. The staff was welcoming but not very helpful when we had a minor problem in our room. The dinner in the dining room was about the worst meal we have had in our lives -- greasy, tough and tastless meats -- which, with... more

Lovely hotel about 15 mins walk from the Cathedral and shopping area. Free parking Staff: Efficient, friendly and polite Rooms: Decor rather dated ,but room was clean. Bathroom clean and well appointed. Booked Dinner bed and breakfast. Excellent value. food was good It is not a hotel, but rather a quaint little B&B or maybe even large enough to be... more

Lovely period hotel about fifteen minutes walk to the centre of Canterbury. Room was large and the dinner and breakfast was of an excellent standard. The staff at the hotel made my seven year old daughter very welcome and they had an excellent childrens menu that they were very happy to adapt to suit the more fussy eater. Plenty of... more

The Ebury is a refreshing change from the Hiltons etc, where you wake up to the same furnishings and pictures in every city! OK - the decor is old-fashioned (although it all seems pretty new) but the staff are friendly & helpful, rooms clean, beds comfortable and the breakfasts great (albeit so large they leave you feeling guilty about the... more

The Ebury is a B&B not a hotel. A classical example of why people find Britain over-priced. It was a real disappointment and seeing it rated as #1 in Canterbury (I used tripadvisor to find a hotel) has made me treat tripadvisor recommendations with a little more caution. We stayed there for three nights at £100 per night for B&B.... more

It was a lovely building from the outside and in the garden, but the decor was definitely not to our taste - tired, flowery and out of date. The check-in staff member was friendly enough though. Our room was fine, but again, very dated decor, although the bathroom was very clean. As someone else mentioned on hear, a small point... more

I would just like to address the points raised in this review. 1. The decor is not tired, it may not be to someone's taste, but it is not tired, the cutains, duvets, valences, runners, pillows and bed linen are all new, and the hotel was recently repainted. This is an old building built in 1840s, and the decor in...

A very welcoming and well-appointed hotel. The staff are most helpful and kind. The only gripe is the poor-quality soap, shampoo and bath gel, but this is a very small point. Restaurant very good, maybe the portions are a little too generous? more

I spent one night at Ebury Hotel, Canterbury, Kent, England, in May 2008. I was there for the Canterbury marathon that took place the day after. I decided on Ebury Hotel after reading the reviews on Tripadvisor as usual. The first impression before I even got there was terrific. I received a friendly, personal email from the hotel confirming my... more

Myself & friend stayed in twin room here last weekend. She booked directly with hotel a couple of months ago, and got a good deal : £115 for 2 nights B&B and one Table d'hote dinner per person sharing. Hotel is about 10 minute pleasant walk from centre of town - very do-able. Has plenty of car-parking within grounds. Beautiful,... more
