was ruined and also our wedding breakfast with our friends the next day.. didn't even have one!! We spent 20 mins in our wedding regalia (a very heavy dress) on the doorstep ringing the nightbell (my husband was told he didn't need to take his key) and the next morning the rudeness of Elaine (the owner) astounded me and upset... more

It is disappointing to receive a spiteful review from a guest for whom we made such considerable efforts and put ourselves out for. We happily prepared a complimentary turkish breakfast on both mornings, as requested, and were at great pains to make all the guests as welcome and comfortable as possible. This slanderous review cannot be ignored. The groom and...

For those looking for a home away from home while in Canterbury please consider Ersham Lodge. We were provided very nice rooms, an excellent breakfast, and informed advice during our recent stay. All e-mail contacts were handled expeditiously and they even helped us tremendously with our airport transfers. The location can not be beat, five minutes and you are in... more

Only last week we again visited the excellent Ersham Lodge Hotel only to find out that we were some of the last guests to stay with the owners Sheila and Steve. We have been using Ersham Lodge now for over eight years and we have always found the place to be very welcoming, superbly clean and like home from home.... more

I visited this B&B with my family for a week long stay in Canterbury when visiting family in the area. My family recommended the hotel based on its closeness to the sights and sounds of the area, and the quality of the rooms on offer at a reasonable price. This hotel is by no means the Ritz but then at... more

My review :- Just like home - delightful. Once again we had the pleasure to stay in Canterbury at the Ersham Lodge. This was our ninth time of staying at the hotel and it just gets better every year. Steve and Sheila could not be more helpful, they are such nice people and work so hard for their guests. The... more

This hotel may look charming from the outside, but the rooms we had were tiny, tacky, musty-smelling, and the decor was horrid. The showers were electric with very little water pressure...so much so that washing one's hair would be an all day event. The staff were quite friendly, but we'd never recommend this hotel to anyone. The rates were far... more

After seeing the previous reviews on this site i feel i need to voice my opinion on this simple b&b. On our first night we were caught in terrible traffic and realised we wouldnt reach Canterbury until after 9pm. We called the hotel and they couldnt have been nicer, they left a key out for us and allowed us to... more

We left our luggage in the car and left the car in the car park...............and put a note through the door to let them know! Returned at eleven and checked in,... more

I had to stay here for a week when working away from home. I had a single room on the ground floor which was frankly grotty, smelly, damp and claustrophobic. more

We stayed at the Ersham Lodge for 4 nights in July '05 and I can honesly say we were made to feel most welcome. It's a small family run hotel about 5 minutes walk from Canterbury city centre and is in just the right place to be quiet but easily accessible. We were welcomed on arrival and shown to our... more
