Booked this hotel for an overnight stay via booking.com fortuately we got a large discount from the £190 per night and still think it was way overpriced. Althought the room was OK the bath was TINY the view was interrupted by a road and a number of buildings so you could say the description of the view from the room... more
After just coming back from staying at the Lake House Hotel, I thought it may be good to add our good and bad points from our weekend stay. On first approach of the hotel, the entrance is really nice. The view from the front of the hotel out to the lake is breathtaking. The parking is a bit tight when... more
Me and my partner stayed in the Lake House Hotel for two nights in November. The staff couldn't have been more friendly and helpful - they provided information on what to do and where to go. The rooms were immaculately clean and the breakfast was lovely - hot and a massive selection to choose from. There is parking outside the... more
The Lake House Hotel is in a great location, on a road up above Lake Windermere and 5-10 minutes walk from the centre of Ambleside. It was very easy to find on entering the town. Parking was a little tight, but not a problem. The building is lovely, and all the staff were very friendly. We had a standard room,... more

Booked this hotel on day of arrival, for myself, my wife and 18month old daughter. Arrived and were shown around hotel and then to room. Room was excellent and homely with antique pine furniture and good quality bedding and furnishings. My daughter liked the fact that there was a cuddly toy on the bed for our arrival. Location on hotel... more
Just returned from a 3 night break at lake house hotel in Ambleside. The hotel is set in nice grounds in a good location, very impressive from the road. This extends through the reception and into the breakfast area but unfortunately the room was only average for what we paid. We had dirty tea cups on the hospitality tray, and... more
Just returned from a one night stay here. The hotel is lovely and clean, and very quiet. Although I wouldnt be keen on stopping in rooms 1 or 2 as they are on the ground floor near the breakfast area. The breakfast is a serve yourself style and was lukewarm rather than hot, this is the only small fault with... more
