We just returned from a short break in cumbria. Stayed in Lake View in Portinscale. We don't write many reviews,but this is well worth mentioning. The guest house was spotless,rooms were very nice,lovely bathroom with bath and shower,lovely clean,soft white towels. This guest house was a delight to stay in. The rooms were beautiful, the beds were comfortable and the breakfast delicious. It was in a quiet area and just down the road from and excellent pub/restaurant. The host was helpful and courteous. I enjoyed my stay here very much. We stayed as a party of 6 at Lakeview and had all three rooms for two nights. We can thoroughly recommend this guest house, the proprietors are very friendly, rooms are spacious and immaculate, and the food is exquisite, even the packed lunches! more

This is much more than a B&B - we spent 3 nights here and couldn't find a fault. This guest house was in a beautiful setting and the owners made us feel very welcome. We were served tea and cake on arrival and they could not do enough for us and gave us lots of advice on the area. Very comfortable, clean, spacious room.
