Spent a couple of nights at the Strathmore Hotel - initially a bit disappointed as room was rather small and cramped but staff very helpful and moved us into a much larger room with a huge bed. Do not expect the luxury of a nowadays 4* hotel, in case you are used to 4* hotels. My opinion is that the hotel really needs to undergo a thourough renovation in order to deserve a 4* - label. The hotel breaths past glory. more

Ok. Tiny elevator. Narrow halls. No airconditioning in the rooms and they are small. (At least I had a window with a view of the apartments accross the street.) Billed as a beautifully restored Victorian townhouse, this Bayswater grand dame has had her innards ripped out and the men with measuring tapes have crawled over her seeking to cram in as many rooms as she can manage. Satyed in room 216 for 1 night. The room was huge 1 double bed 2 single beds & s sofa bed.for Myself My mother & my daughter.(age 5). Tea/coffee making facilites & pleanty of milk & t bags.
