Set in the small village of Ecton 5 miles from Northampton, the Worlds End has 20 rooms built to accompany the busy restaurant and bar next door. The food is very good with a wide selection of dishes (including stone fired pizzas) and it is reasonably priced. The staff are very friendly and helpful. You can either eat in the... more

This hotel has obviously had a lot of money spent on it - a new hotel block reached from the restaurant by a covered walk way. The main door to this block is electric so its quiet at night - no slamming fire doors, The rooms are comfortable and well decorated in a "boutique" hotel style. Both room and bath... more

I was looking for somewhere to stay whilst on a visit to Santa Pod over a May bank holiday weekend. The conditions that had to be met were as follows: Not too far from the Venue. Easy to find. Good quality en-suite room. Not overcrowded. Nice bar with some real ales. Somewhere to get decent food. Good, friendly, personal service.... more

The room was clean and decoated to a high standard, but was quite cold. Having turned the room thermostat it had no effect as the room did not appear to have any way of heating. Was informed by staff that it had underfloor heating, but it had a carpet on the floor and how long would that take to heat... more

Booked last minute direct with the hotel and they had a great deal at £40 for room and breakfast if you ate in the restaurant. The food in the restaurant was lovely with a good varied menu. It was busy and our reservation was squeezed in which meant we only had 1.5 hours before they needed the table. However, it... more

Really excellent hotel. Unlike the other reviewer, I found the restaurant lovely, food was great with unusual dishes you don't see everywhere else. The accommodation was of superior standard, lovely and clean, modern decoration, large bed, Moulton Brown toiletries. And also lthe room was larger than traditional accommodation probably because of modern disability access requirements. The pub/bar area itself was... more

Hotel rooms may be very nice but the restaurant menu lacks severely in choice. Sampled the wild mushrooms with Mediterranean vegetables and tagliatelle, after complaining as the Mediterranean vegetables consisted of just two pieces of red pepper one centimetre square this dish had to be the worst that I have ever tasted. more

As a frequent visitor to Northampton, this hotel is a great find. Newly and tastefully refurbished to a high standard - I believe it only re-opened in March 06. Accommodation in an all new wing. Service friendly & helpful. They deserve to do well. Such hotel quality is very hard to find in many towns, particularly when so many hotels... more
