Yes, parts of the building may date back to 1400, but so does many of the fixtures and fittings in the bedrooms. Looks very pleasant from the outside but once you step through the doors it's dull, tired and in serious need of some TLC. The rooms have definitely seen better days and need a complete overhaul. Food OK, as is bar but the surroundings seriously let it down. more

I would highly recommend avoiding the Holt unless they do some serious renovation of the place. The Holt's main business seems to be catering to large tour bus groups who essentially have no choice as to where they stay.
