I stayed here for one night as part of a hen weekend. The room was very large with two double beds in it! more than enough for me and my friend. The bathroom was clean and had everything you could ask for (Clean towels, toiletries, power shower, bath etc There was plenty of storage and the room was decorated to... more

I dont know how anyone cannot like this hotel. I stayed there on a pamper weekend with a party of 16 women ranging from 17 - 50+. Not one person conplained about the rooms, services or food in fact we all had a great time. We ate out on the night time but breakfast the next morning was wonderful. The... more

The hotel is OK: the problem is that's all it is - just OK. The room was fine, the public areas OK and the room rate not too much. But it all felt a little tired and lacking in any kind of human touch. What I needed was a bed with a ensuite bathroom and that's what I got. The... more

Good value if you can pay the £55 a night, The hotel is excellent value if you make use of the leisure facilities (swimming pool, gym, sauna etc). The hotels atmosphere was somewhat dead more like a waiting room for god. The reception/check in staff will not win awards for there service but they do the job with no personality... more

I stay at the Renaissance every year in August for the annual Reading music festival and it's insanely overpriced for that particular weekend, but I enjoy the leisure facilities and the fact that so many people who work at the festival stay here and it's easy to get a lift to the festival site from the hotel with other guests... more

I checked in late at 11pm and the receptionist informed me that I would have to have a smoking room as there were no non-smoking rooms left. He said as it was only for one night it was not too bad. Admittedly my view was coloured by the smell of cigarettes in the corridor as I approached my room and... more

We wanted a couple of nights last minute for a trip away and somewhere near to Reading as we were going to a Rugby match at The madjeski stadium. Our big mistake was not finding the time to check out other reviews on here. The nicest things you can say about this hotel, were that the Breakfast was very nice... more

We booked into an Executive Room on a weekend break and once we got there, we were given a normal room with no explanation why... and it was a twin room as well so the romance effect was dampened with that. Too bad that when we got there I was too rushed to get out to an event that I... more

We chose this hotel after reviewing the details on the website and the location to the city centre of Reading. The pictures on the website are nothing like the hotel. The rooms were appointed in 1980's decor, with the bathroom being untouched since then! The beds were very soft, as were the pillows. The duvets were comfortable but this didn't... more

Had to come to Reading for a wedding nearby, the hotel was full to the brim and they did good offers for two night stays if you booked well in advance. The hotel was completly crammed from the reception, to the bar to the lifts all the time, this is not a hotel for a quite romantic time or time... more
