It seems everything is either a five-star or a one-star review. But this is a three star. As a total impression, I didn't much care for it. There were good and bad sides, but it most certainly is an impersonal sleeping machine. And a very expensive one at that. It is right in the middle of town, and perfect for... more

My husband and I stayed here for four nights while he was on business. It is probably the nicest hotel in Reading but i thought it had a few things it could improve on. Good: service of reception was very friendly and check-in and out was very efficient - has a really good sized swimming pool and gym - has... more

I have just stayed 2 nights at the Novotel Reading. I had 2 teenagers with me and we had a very enjoyable time. The staff were excellent and the room was lovely. We had a great breakfast and the location was fab. A quick rail journey to London. This was excellent value for money and I would recommend this hotel. more

I booked into a smoking room last Thursday - paying a 'corporate rate' of £135 for one night - which is pushing it for Reading on a Thursday evening. The top floor room air conditioning did not work, and there were DOZENS of burn marks on the carpet. I phoned reception to ask for a change of room - from... more

Staff all very friendly, cheerful, nothing too much trouble, could not fault. Best food of any hotel I have stayed at, absolutely excellent, scallops the size of scones, crispy duck salad brilliant, in fact everything on the menu cooked to perfection. Pool, steam room etc. spotless. Only down side are not enough car parks. more

Lovely Novotel. Modern, very clean, extremely comfortable & spacious (although I did have a disabled room). I ate in the restaurant & the food was super, lots of choice & sizes of helpings. They even have special tables for singles, with your own personal TV & headphones! Very good value. It was also very convenient for the rail station, only... more

This is a terrible place to stay. The air conditioning does not work. The sheets do not fit the bed- they are about a foot too short and keep riding up in the night and the beds are very very uncomfortable. The pillows and cushions are very cheap and horrid. The ensuite loo is a shoebox and it is hard... more

I had a 5 night stay here on business and found it a very useful base. For a city centre hotel it feels spacious, with high ceilings and white walls. The swimming pool is of a good size. Staff were courteous and helpful at all times, and wore discreet badges showing which languages they spoke. The unusual structure of the... more

My partner and I stayed there for 1 night when visiting Royal Ascot this year. The hotel is ideally placed for Reading town centre, it's actually right in the middle of Reading town centre but at the same time it has a quiet, relaxing atmosphere when you walk through the front door. It's also only a two minute walk to... more

Just stayed at the Novotel Reading Centre, England and if you are visiting Reading and you need a hotel convenient to the centre of the town, this is the place to stay! Situated on a pedestrianised street you will be surprised by the warmth and efficiency of your welcome and the tranquility inside the hotel.mmI stayed there on a Saturday... more
