I requested one of the refurbished rooms on the first floor, for my boyfriends birthday. Parking was £10 per day but really easy and the hotel were happy for you to leave the car a couple of hours after checkout. We stayed at the Francis Hotel for 2 nights recently, for 'The Taste of Bath'. We had a modern contemporary room on the first floor. Don't stay here! We booked 2 nights and left after the first night. The room floor sloped about 100mm - including the bed. Hotel is very, very old, floors squeek badly, bathroom is the biggest problem. Nowhere to place your toiletries, no light in the toilet area which is separate from the bath/shower area, no light in or near the closet. This centrally located hotel was wonderful and I haven't a bad word to say about it.
