Stayed as this hotel as went away for a girlie weekend with my sister - shopping all day, few drinks in the evening. Stayed at this hotel (Saturday night) as it was close to everything - shops and bars etc. However, it was TOO close! Blaring music, shouting and singing could be heard outside the windows until 3 in the... more

We stayed at Ibis Birmingham city centre as it is ideally located for a night out in the city (literally ext door to arcadian centre). The hotel is under refurbishment and therefore we experienced some difficulties with the lift (one is refurbished so the other one is crowded). The refurbishment is necessary as the lift and toilets are REALLY tired!... more

The Ibis on Ladywell Walk has always been great for location, it's a few minutes walk from New St and right in the middle of the Arcadian/Hurst Street/Chinatown area. I've stayed there several times and it was once a upon a time a fantastic choice being both cheap and central. However in summer 2008 it really was not a pleasant... more

Cons - first room was noisy from nightclubs but new room on the 3rd floor was much better, no cooked breakfast, noise from refurbishment Pros - Pay TV system and broadband internet was very fast, Staff were very nice and welcoming, second room was newly refurbished and was very nice compared to first room (which I guess from the refurbishment... more

the positive, staff were friendly and responded to complaint promptly, hotel security high. The negative, the carpet had not seen a hoover or clean for a long time. The walls were paper thin and the noise outside at night is high. If your young and looking for nightlife and restaurants this may suit you, otherwise forget it. more

You usually know what to expect from Ibis and, being on a business budget, I'm not expecting any sort of luxury. However, Accor really need to look hard at hotels like this one or they'll fall further behind Premier Inn, who seem to have upped their game considerably recently. The good: Friendly, courteous and helpful reception and breakfast staff, clean... more

Starting with the pros, the reception staff were very friendly and always helped us when it was needed. There is security at night to prevent any revellers from local clubs entering the hotel. You can't get to the rooms without a key card. Cons. Very very noisy. Unable to sleep once the clubs let out due to shouting, cars playing... more

I stayed here whilst in Birmingham for a conference. It's location is about 10 min walk from City centre, but surrounded by restaurants, so quite fragrant. Very noisy as its also surrounded by bars. No car park, but you get a slight discount to use multistory NCP opposite - £12.50 per 24 hours to park. The room is just big... more
