My husband, parents and I stayed at the Buckland on a rainy 4-day long weekend in early August, 2007. We were greeted by the manager warmly and always called by name throughout our stay. Having complained about a very disappointing stay at von Essen group's Fowey Hall we received a voucher towards a stay in another hotel and chose Buckland Manor, part of their Relais Chateux branch. Had a lovely 2 night stay here, rooms were well appointed and furnished. Didn't have any major housekeeping issues - floor in bathroom had grass in corners... more

From the manager's friendly welcome as we drove up, to his goodbyes as we left three days later, we were cosseted throughout and felt like we were staying in a wealthy private home. The hotel's restaurant catered to whims and all the bedrooms had 24-hour fires and luxury bathrooms. We loved it, and the beautiful Cotswolds, and will return. more

This was the third time we have stayed at Buckland and easily the best. Buckland Manor has the feeling of a private house party and it is fun to chat with the other guests. Didn't actually stay in Buckland Manor as we're only a short drive away. But thought I would mention that we had a fabulous evening there on Valentine's day this year. Buckland Manor is a wonderful country house. Our drinks, canapes, meal and service were absolutely excellent. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend it for a special event. more
