We stayied in September 2007, sadly the place did not live up to the expectations and we would not return. The cottage we were in was poorly set out with a big beam directly above the bed, which resulted in my partner banging his head a few times. We have just returned from a lovely 4 day family break occupying two cottages, this is the second time we have stayed at Gwern Borter in one of their nice little cottages. The cottages vary in size and shape, are well equipped and spotlessly clean. They are all very cosy but if you are tall like me then the chances... more

Just a warning - take out insurance if staying here. We couldn't get there because of heavy snow and the associated hazardous driving conditions / road closures etc on on 9th Feb 07. We were informed that customers from London had managed to make the journey (well done them!) and under no cirumstances could we be refunded or even alter... more

With the greatest respect bad weather did not effect any other guests from arriving at this busy period ( half term ) we were fully booked and everyone else arrived. This booking was for a week Sat to Sat and the snow had gone by Monday. So even if they were very nervous on the Sat they could have come...

one of the problems with reviews is often the facts stated are simply wrong. This review is a perfect example. The bathroom this reviewer assumed should be availble to him was another rooms private bathroom. It was made clear reception closed at 5pm to enquiries from the cottages within the grounds NOT to the house guests. Another strange aspect of...
