Wonderful location. The hotel is in urgent need of renovation, it looks and feels worn out. However as others have commented it is simply not clean. The fan was not working in the internal bathroom in our bedroom making the whole room feel damp. Ordinary domestic carpet covers the bathroom floor and it is dirty and smells by the loo.... more

Stayed at Abbey farm camp-site across the road and were give a 15% off food voucher for the Abbey grange hotel. The restaurant only had one other table in yet our food took 40 minutes to arrive. When it did it was terrible! The lager also tated very strange and we sent that back as well. Don't eat here-drive in... more

We called into the pub after a lovely family day out. We were all extremely hungry and the pub looked welcoming with signs showing carvery is served on Sundays. The surrounding area was breathtaking. This is the only good point. We ordered our meal at 16.50, it came to the table at 17.40. As we sat waiting I looked around... more

We saw this Hotel and as it looked nice from outside we went in to see if they had a room for the night. We viewed a room at the front of the Hotel (no.8). It was cold but the man showing us said it would warm up soon, he assured me it would get warm, to be fair it... more

Abbey Grange is a nice country inn in stupendous countryside. I've read the comments of the party who visited in September, and found them most unfair. It is not a grand place, but we found it clean and comfortable, and the staff were unfailingly friendly and helpful. The food is more honest country fare than gastropub, but freshly prepared and... more

Read the blurb on the hotel website - and other websites - then totally disregard it as an inspired piece of fiction writing. I stayed at this hotel for two nights recently and I'm still feeling slightly itchy!! The place should be professionally disinfected I'm sure and maybe a call to Environmental Health wouldn't go amiss either. I'm unsure whether... more

This country hotel seemed like a pleasant rustic place to stay for the weekend when I booked it. The room was a little shabby but as we had been quoted £28 pounds per room on the phone ( after looking a website) I thought it was still a fair deal, the bed was at least comfortable and clean. But no shower/no... more

The website led us to believe we were in for a treat- how far wrong could we be. The hotel is old and dated with worn out victorian style carpets which have not seen the bottom end of a vacuum cleaner for the better part of this year. The shower did not work and there was no hot water. We... more

We have just returned from a weekend break in Llangollen where we stayed at the Abbey Grange hotel the details on the net made the Abbey sound like a great place to stay. Needless to say this was not the case. On arrival the hotel seemed really dated and had an unpleasant smell about it. The room was ok and... more
