Just back from a few days away in Betws y Coed and stayed over at Afon Gwyn. If Carlsberg ran Guest Houses ,they would probably be like this.Friendly , clean, well appointed, fantastic fresh breakfast. Try the hearty one ,it will set you up for the day no problem. We just got back from 4 nights at the Afon Gwyn Hotel and enjoyed our stay tremendously. The location is perfectly situated within walking distance of the village (20mins) and other scenic walks like the Fairy Glen, Swallow Falls. The room was spacious, well-equipped and very clean. An added bonus was the DVD player in the room and the hotel's... more

We stayed at the Alice suite, which was gorgeous. The room is very big, the en-suite bathroom is huge, with a lovely bath and separated shower. The bed is so big and comfortable, lots of pillows, all top class, big tv and dvd player (and Tim, the host, has many dvds available if you fancy a night in). The breakfast... more

We found this guest house during an internet search and chose it for its location (ie convenient for many North Wales attractions). It was a great choice, the welcome from the owners Tim and Di was warm and the house is decorated and furnished to the highest of standards. Breakfast was served in the lovely conservatory, the food was great... more

We stayed in the Alice sweet which was fantastic. From booking to our fond farewells Tim and Diana were 2 of the nicest hosts I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. Very polite but with a hint of cheekiness that makes you feel like they're more friends than owners. The entire place is immaculate, the Alice suite is a... more

If it had rained all day we could happily have stayed in. The room and breakfast were faultless. Afon Gwyn is a gem of a guest house; like a boutique hotel. Tim couldn't have been more hospitable from the moment we arrived. We're looking forward to going back again. more

From start to finish a truly perfect place to stay. Tim was extremely welcoming and made you feel at home straight away! Our room was out of this world, spotlessly clean and the attention to detail was second to none, this carried on throughout the house also. Breakfast was again excellent and set you up for the day, and coupled... more

We stayed for two nights in the Alice Suite which was huge and wonderfully decorated. The host was exceedingly friendly. This area of Wales is exceptionally beautiful and the nearby town one of the nicest in the whole country. Of the month I spent in the UK this B&B and area was one of the highest of many highlights. more

Perfect in every way, Tim the owner is friendly but not over imposing, the hotel is imaculate, the location is fantastic just 1 minute to the river. Breakfasts are superb, car parking in front of the hotel and off the road. A very very pleasant relaxing stay, the Alice room is huge !! Thankyou for a great stay Tim. Stuart... more
