Stayed here for a week a while back as the Victoria Centre was opening and my usual hotel was fully booked. First thing I can say about it is that it's rather out the way. 20 mins by taxi. Another issue is that there isn't much in the way of places to eat that we saw but there is a... more

We stayed at the Balmoral Hotel on Blacks Road in Belfast for two nights on the 2nd and 3rd May 2008. The hotel is about 10 minutes from the City centre. We flew into Belfast International airport and it took about 25 minutes to get to the hotel, so I suppose it would take less from the City airport. I... more

I discovered the balmoral hotel a few years ago and have stayed several times. The location of the hotel is great. The bedrooms are sharply decorated, clean and well kitted out... The receiption area and foyer bar is very impressive with that modern day decor (SPOTLESSLY CLEAN) The staff are extremely friendly, polite and helpful, especially the breakfast staff.... I... more

Stayed at this hotel to attend a function last weekend. Can't say one good thing about it. Staff were on bebo when we arrived. Room was very noisy. The tanks for the heating system for the whole place seemed to be bubbling and creaking right above our heads for the whole night. It even kept my young daughter awake and... more

Stayed in the Balmoral Hotel in Nov 2007. The hotel is a suburban bar/small hotel type premises, it was a 10-15 minute taxi ride from the city centre. My room was clean and newly renovated to a high standard. Renovations were still taking place in the reception area during my visit, looks promising. Rates were reasonable, staff were friendly, breakfast... more

Me and my husband treated ourselves to a weekend in Belfast without the kiddies, stayed Friday and Saturday night. Location of hotel was excellent with being close to both cities Belfast and Lisburn for a bit of shopping. Bedroom & bathroom was clean, decor homely. Restaurant and Bar Food very good, All Staff very helpful and pleasant. WOULD BE MORE... more

We were so pleasantly surprised at the standard of this hotel. The room had been recently refurbished and it was really first class. Absolutely spotless with really nice neutral colour scheme. Beds were really comfy and the linen on them was crisp and white. Good pillows too. Immaculate modern bathroom, shower was super. Well stocked tea tray. Flat screen TV.... more

We stayed here for 4 days and had a very nice time. There is a restaurant downstairs that has lovely food and a good variety on the menu from ribs, soups, steaks etc. The service was also very good. There is a second bar upstairs with a large sitting area. It has become non smoking which was very nice and... more

Stayed here last week for a wedding. i live in Belfast but was unsure about this hotel and was not looking forward to staying overnight because of the reviews. I was very surprised, no smokey smells at all. Our room was a little small and bathroom looked as if it had just been refurbished, albeit the toilet seat was very... more

Stayed in this hotel last week. I can't tell you how bad it was. It was as bad as its worst reviews, sadly. Yes it's stuck in a time warp, desperately needs refurbishing. Very nice staff, but an embarassment for them to have to work in. Avoid. more
