I have stayed at and reviewed the Atholl many times before, however I have just stayed there again and have found that they have started to upgrade the public areas. Not that they really needed upgrading but they've started anyway. The Bar area has a new more contemporary feel and I was told that the front lounge and restaurant will... more

I regularly visit Aberdeen on business and I always try to stay at the Atholl. Unfortunately, it is very popular and I have to book weeks in advance to ensure a room. But it's worth it! It's not a huge corporate monster, just a lovely well run hotel with friendly staff and comfortable rooms. Built in local granite it's a... more

Stayed for 3 nights in a superior room at a very competitive price for Aberdeen. Although not right in the centre of town the hotel is on a bus route and you could actually walk into to town Taxis in Aberdeen are usually excellent anyway. Thoroughly recommended. Excellent bar with bar meals and a nice little rstaurant with more traditional... more

Hotels are difficult to find this week in Aberdeen. So I had to stay at four different hotels in Aberdeen over six days. Among the four, I would rate this one my most enjoyable stay. I have been to Aberdeen many time, this was my first time at the hotel, and was happily surprised how comfortable I felt. I think... more

The room was spacious and well-maintained. Service at reception is friendly and efficient and breakfasts are good (again with excellent service. My only complaint is that room service are over-zealous on two counts. First of all, on each of the three days we stayed there, the bar of soap was replaced with a fresh, wrapped one. In these more environmentally... more

This was the second time I've stayed at this hotel, and it fitted the bill perfectly. Having not been able to book the nearby hilton, I booked the Atholl for a much more competitive rate. The service was extremely friendly, and the room (single) was small but had all the facilities I required. I ate both nights at the hotel,... more

I have stayed here a few times now when on business in Aberdeen and this hotel has always been fine. The best thing about it are the staff who are all friendly and helpful. The location is good too. Just near a bus stop (the 23 goes right into town), or about a 20 minute walk into the centre. Theres... more

After being unexpectdedly sent to Aberdeen by my company, at very short notice, I set about the task of finding accomodation for up to two weeks. This in itself was far from easy. However, as I called around I was lucky enough to get a rare cancellation at the Atholl and having booked my own customers here in the past... more

Nice hotel with really friendly reception staff. Rooms can be a bit quirky if you are after a single. The ones at the top of the building have big sloping roofs and if it rains, as it did the last time I was there, the sound of the rain battering of the windows can keep you awake. Room spotlessly clean... more

The Atholl is probably rated four stars because of the service of its people and there was nothing they couldn't do for us while we were there. The hotel is in a very nice residential area on a main street. It was perfect for our stay due to its location. Downtown is a short bus ride away or a nice... more
