We stayed for nights at The Point in late October 2007. Our room was clean and spacious with lounge area that could be seperated from the rest of the room with a large sliding panel. Our view of Edinburgh Castle was fabulous. The window spanned the width of the room and directly faced the beautiful castle which looked even more... more

This is the second time I've stayed at the Point (first time was 2003), and I was very pleased once again. The room was fine, with great views of the street and castle. I was also impressed with the staff; even before I arrived, they helped me make some changes to what were originally two separate reservations. While there, the... more

I usually am fine with anything. Dont ask too much of the place I am staying, but I found the neon lights on the hall very weird and depressing. Room was cheaply decorated and I refuce believing this hotel could have been best hotel in edingburgh last year... the starting expectations were definitely too high on my part. I had... more

We just got back from spending two nights at The Point, and I'm afraid to say that we were extremely disappointed with the overall experience. The room itself, whilst very large, was poorly decorated (plain white painted walls, no colour except for a pretty shabby-looking pale purple carpet). The general quality of the finishings was also poor (very cheap door... more

The hotel was described in our Guide Book as the most contemporary hotel in edinburgh and we booked it on that basis for a two night stay expecting it to be very clean, trendy & modern in style. We were extremly dissapointed as the hotel was cheaply modernised & failed we felt in its attempt at being a trendy art hotel.... more

I stayed at this hotel for a conference - it is situated a 5 min walk from Edinburgh International Conference Centre. I was upgraded from a double room to a suite, this consisted of a small double room and a study. The view from the huge window was amazing, and when the fog lifted (!!) the castle looked amazing. The... more

I stayed here in June 2008. It is in close proximity to the centre of Edinburgh and with a good view of the castle. Check in was prompt and efficient. The room was a decent size with a comfortable bed. However the bathroom was a bit shabby with damp around the bath, a leaking shower and chipped décor. The windows... more

Decent hotel and priced accordingly. I was there on business so fortunately was not paying. If I had done so the extra cost for breakfast would have grated. Minimalist decor sets the scene but lacks that extra touch of customer service - and the cost reflects that. You can do better in Edinburgh for about the same price. more

We held our wedding reception at the Point Hotel, and the staff and wedding planners went out of their way to make everything work really well, considering we were using the restaurant in the daytime and the conference centre penthouse in the evening. The food was great, and the staff so attentive. All the guests were accommodated in rooms on... more
