Good hotel/room, friendly staff, and yes. full monty breakfast. Its just the walking to the castle, good 10-15 minutes, and then down the Royal Mile and over to Princess Street. Then you have to go back and by this time you are very tired (specially after a good pub lunch !) I for one cannot afford a taxi all the... more

A bit of a walk into the city centre. Especially through the hills behind Edinburgh Castle. We worked out a less hilly walk on our second trip into the city and even got a taxi or bus in on a couple of occassions. Small room with a great heater (we were able to get clothes dry during the day while... more

The staff at the hotel we're very helpful and pleasant. The Hotel was clean and although the room wasn't massive it was ok, as we were there to see Edinburgh not the four walls of our hotel room! Would recommend as a base to see Edinburgh, as it's just a ten minute walk to Princes Street! more

This would had got a well above average rating from us for clean, reasonably priced decent accomnodation not too far from Edinburgh city centre. The staff were friendly too. BUT we were given a room overlooking what must be one of the biggest building sites in the history of Edinburgh. The substatinal heavy drilling and craning gear swung into operation... more

jolly band. we as a group of 49 stayed there in easter week this year. We stayed on a half board basis which clearly they had never done for a large group before. The hotel was fine very clean and the breakfasts were terrific because we all came down at different times. But dinner was a disaster. The dinning room... more

A basic, but comfortable hotel. With a little bit of love and attention, this could be a little gem. It was a little overpriced for a one night stay, but the bed was comfy and breakfast was reasonable. The hotel is a good 20 minutes from Princes street, taxi's cost about £7 from the hotel to the station. If you're... more

We paid £144 for 3 nights for a double room and felt this was good value for money. The hotel is about a 20 minute walk to the centre and the Royal Mile. However the no 34 bus takes you straight to Princes St and the bus stop is round the corner from the hotel, however we preferred to walk... more

My wife and I stayed here for 2 nights and were pleasantly suprised by the cleanliness, location and excellent staff attitudes,we were made to feel most welcome, It is situated about 15 mins walk away from the main centre but not too much of a bind getting to all the visitor hotspots. My only only gripe would be the price for... more

This is a good budget hotel. We paid £26.00 pn B & B . The hotel is about 10-15 mins walk from the centre. The reception area & staff were very helpful and polite. The room was adequate with tv, tea making facilities & hairdryer and as has been said in previous reports the shower room very small, but useable.... more
