The Glasshouse has some very clever photography on its website, they fail to include the giant multi- plex that is joined to it. With its collection of grim chain bars and busy road the location leaves alot to be desired, i believe that some of the rooms are directly above some of these bars. Luckily our room looked out onto... more

Was in Edinburgh for the Fringe where the City was absolutely packed with visitors from all over. The Glasshouse was a real haven in the city; quiet, even when standing outside on the balcony and with friendly staff. Have stayed at the Glasshouse several times now sometimes in a suites if I can get a good deal (discounted advanced booking)... more

Booked this hotel for 1 night on 19th Aug 2008. I knew I was proposing to my girlfriend on that day, so I wanted somewhere great for us to stay that night. I knew I'd chosen well by the squeal that came from my new fiancée as the porter opened the door to the room for us. I stay in... more

Okay finding the entrance to the car park was a small problem but once we got inside the Glasshouse I loved every second of our weekend there. The room had the biggest, most comfortable bed I've ever slept in, plus fabulous furnishings and hi-tech gadgets. The room looked out onto a roof garden through a glass wall that ran through... more

Rooms excellent, clean and comfortable. Booked 2 rooms, one rooftop garden view and elderly parents in spacious suite with hugh balcony. Doorman extremely knowledgeable and gracious. All staff very friendly and helpful. Wonderful service by valet. more

Right from the start the staff were friendly helpful and courteous. Taken to room and all aspects of the facilities were explained to us. Shame neither of us are whisky drinkers as the complementary 1/4 bottle of Bowmore went untouched. Food was excellent and again very helpful staff and great with our almost 2year old, the staff also seemed genuinely... more

Fantastic staff on reception and lovely hotel right in the centre of Edinburgh. It should have been a fantastic stay, but things took a turn for the worse when we noticed that our room was not getting serviced - we mentioned this to the front desk who assured us the room would be sorted - never happened. The hotel also... more

This was a great hotel. It had an historic glass bank front facade, and the rooms were gorgeous. We were upgraded to a large suite, with wonderful amenities( heated bathroom floor, slippers, robes, complimentary scottish whiskey, automatic drapes, large balconey,) The doorman who wore a fodora, was so pleasant and helpful. the staff was good, and every thing was very... more

I stayed here with my boyfriend at the beginning of June this year and we had a wonderful time. The room was beautiful, the bed was comfortable, the roof garden was a lovely, peaceful oasis and the heated bathroom floor was my favourite part! The staff went out of their way to be friendly and helpful and the breakfast was... more

We stayed there as a 40th birthday treat for my husband Unfortunately it turned into a bit of a nightmare!! After returning to our room, after an hour reading in the lounge, we were met by what can only be described as an explosion of glass. The glass sink was in bits. There was glass in the hallway, all over... more
