I stayed at the Grassmarket May 16-17, 2008. First of all, the location is prime, just steps from the castle and the Royal Mile. There's tons of bars and restaurants nearby and a popular pub right next door (and I didn't hear any noise from it in my room either). The Grassmarket is in an absolutely fantastic location and is above Biddy Mulligan's - a very fun pub. However, the rooms are extremely small and the hotel is quite rundown. This hotel is brilliantly located near to many pubs and clubs. It is also right underneath the castle!! With lots of groups staying, the hotel is geared up to cater for party groups. The rooms are clean and tidy and have powerful showers. Excellent value for money given location. more
