Fantastic place to stay ! We stayed at Windsor House (the sister guesthouse) and it was great. Lovely big room, comfortable beds and a little ensuite with a really good shower. For somewhere to stay in Edinburgh that is reasonably priced and in a good position this is perfect. The three of us had an enormous room in a lovely Georgian house just 5 minutes walk from Waverley Station. Very helpful owners. No meals but there are plenty of places within walking distance. I booked this without checking for reviews & was worried it could be a hole as it was the cheapest place i could find centrally for what i was looking for... but it was fantastic - clean, basic double room with en suite shower - very nice walk in shower. Tv wasn't tuned but wasn't in Edinburgh to watch TV.... more

The Lantern House offers great value just 5 minutes away from Waverley station. You're within easy reach for all the sights, the local theatre and lots of restaurants which are all very nice. Only the ensuite room is included with no breakfast, however there is a Slug and Lettuce (if my memory serves me correctly) around the corner that does... more
