We went to St Andrews for a golfing break, and could not have chosen a better place to stay than the Glenderran. The owners Ray and Maggie welcomed us to their wonderful home, which is immaculate and has recently had all its rooms refurbished to a very high standard. The service provided by Ray and Maggie was second to none... more

Our 3 days at Glenderran were very comfortable. Ray and Maggie are excellent hosts. Rooms are clean and have the amenities you would expect from a hotel. It was our first stay in a B & B and we would not hestiate to stay there again. Having wireless internet was a bonus. We could walk everywhere and parking was always... more

This B&B is absolutely perfect. Quite luxurious. Amazing rooms and bathrooms. The couple who own it are really kind and welcoming. Fabulous complete breakfast. I could go on and on about all the great reasons to stay here! Some of them are: soft sheets that smell heavenly, thick towels hanging on a timed and heated towel rack, view of the... more

My husband and I had a wonderful stay at Glenderran. Ray & Maggie are thoughtful hosts, and made us feel right at home. Our room was lovely - clean and spacious. Breakfast was a delight, and every care was taken to ensure our stay was comfortable. The location was very convenient for golf & retail therapy. We wouldn't hesitate to... more

My wife and I spent a lovely weekend in St.Andrews staying at the Glenderran. Mine hosts Ray + Maggie could not have been more helpful. They were happy to answer any questions and were a mine of information on everything from golf info to local history and the best places to visit. They were also great in supplying info on... more

During the month of Novenber 2005, my wife and I had the good fortune to stay for seveal nights at Glendarren Guest House with Ray and maggie as our wonderful hosts. Both Ray and Maggie warmly welcomed us to their home like we were old friends. The room was very tastefully decorated, very clean and comfotable, the exceptional en-suite added... more

Our visit to St. Andrews was a rainy experience, but our stay at Glenderran Guest House was sunny and bright. Our room was perfect, even a small view of the sea from our little sitting area. Decoration was very tasteful with many little details to make us comfortable. Our room and the entire house was very clean and well cared... more

Murray Place in St. Andrews is lined with B&Bs, each looking pretty much like the other from the outside. What sets Glenderran apart are the managers, Ray and Jane, and the lengths they go to to make their guests feel welcome and at home. Ray schlepped our golf bags up and down the stairs each day, having them waiting for... more

Our trip to Scotland was absolutely magical. I and 3 friends from EWGA golf league set out to on a pilgrimage to the hallowed seat of all golf history, The Old Course. We truly were blessed, and felt that we were meant to be there. We were incredibly fortunate in obtaining a tee time, and could not have been more... more

Paid for "room with private facility" got a room with bathroom in a hall behind a curtain. The room was tiny with low ceiling, could hardly stand upright. The breakfast 'buffet' consisted of cereal and a couple of other items. The cooked breakfast menu was OK. There was no privacy due to paper thin walls, and the nosey management. more

Management response from

The room in question is small and that is because guesthouses are converted from family houses and are not purpose built. Therefore we have to make the best of what we have and, despite being on the small side, has all the facilities required of a 4 Star establishment. The room in question has a bedroom with it’s own private...
