I stayed in Sheilas last week, yes the rooms are a bit small but the other facilities are fantastic, the Cinema is a dark room with loads of comfy bean bags and open day and night, All the front desk staff were very helpful and as I was leaving there was a delivery of over a 100 new mattresses. more

A nice hostel on the northside of Cork city, within easy walking distance of the main drag, the room we stayed in was a dorm for 4, got very warm at night. Room was ensuite but toilet facilities v. basic. Living area was very quiet we went in and were chatting away and we were getting dirty looks from people.... more

Sheilas was the first Hostel we stayed in during our Ireland trip. It lived up to my resevations about hostels. The staff was nice but dealing with many comings and goings from behind a counterThe room was clean but a little dingy. Unfortunately it was right by the balcony where everyone gathers so it was loud until about 23:00. It would... more

What a nice weekend we had a Sheila's! We wanted to finish our trip round Ireland with a quiet, relaxing stay in Cork and Sheila's was the place to be! Facilities include free cinema room with plasma screen, bean bag seats and free DVDs, sauna room for only 2€ for 40 minutes, free internet, coffee... Their kitchen is amongst the... more

Weekend visit to Cork, room booked was a twin with ensuite. We checked in around 10.30 pm which seemed like a chore for the person on the check in desk. Check in took about 15 mins which was slightly annoying as we have pre-booked. The room was functional and clean though the walls were thin. The room was located next... more

This hostel was me and my travel companion's first experience on our backpacking trip through Europe. And we were not disappointed. The staff was friendly and helpful. They have an internet cafe on the property, and a video room with bean bag chairs. We stayed in a 6 bed room, and though it was cramped, it was fine for us.... more

We stayed at Sheilas for the St Patriks day weekend so as you can appreciate the hostel was fully booked out. On arrival they were organised and had everything ready for our check in. The room was clean but did smell a little bit as it only had one window which you had to climb up on the bunk and... more

Although the decor and bathroom was a little shabby, the helpfulness, enthusiasm and cheeriness of the guy on the desk was so great that it made our stay there really excellent. Also, he gave accurate instructions over the phone on how to get to the hostel, and they actually worked!!! This was a great relief as we had had a... more

My friend and I stayed at Sheila's Hostel in September 2005. We had booked a twin room with en-suite which was extremely cheap. The room was clean enough but was VERY small with bunk beds. If you are a little claustrophobic, I wouldn't recommend it! Aside from that, the hostel was ok. There was a good cheap breakfast and good... more

I stayed here over New Year 2005/6 with friends - there were eleven of us in total. Firstly the rooms themselves. I can only talk about the four person dorms (not ensuite) as that was the room I stayed in. The bedsheets and room itself were clean enough - can't say much for the colour scheme (bright red anyone?) but... more
