We very often stay with relatives in West Cork, but this year due to my wife's health, decided to 'hotel it.' Celtic Ross is well worth a visit. Good location. Very friendly and helpful staff. Only drawback - we were there 4 nights and given a room overlooking the cemetery, rubbish bins and car park. On requesting, we were promised... more

This hotel is ideally located to tour the West Cork area. The breakfast was very good & the rooms were clean. The bathroom had a noisy fan which was faulty & not replaced. On the day we left a piece of the fan landed on my husband while he was showering. During the evening children were permitted to run around... more

I stayed in the Celtic Ross hotel on a Saturday night as we were attending a wedding which was taking place in Roscarbery. I was shocked when I called to confirm our booking, which I had made in Feb, and was told the cost was €100 per person per night. For a 3* hotel I thought this was extremely expensive,... more

Stayed for one night over bank holiday weekend. Great location, overlooking the bay. Good hotel, nice big clean room, tasteful modern decor. Nice lobby, bar areas. Good bar food - reasonably priced. Great service all round. Would definitely go back. more

my boyfriend and i have just returened from a weekend (3 nights) in the Celtic Ross. first impressions are of a hotel that has tried in recent years to pick itself up and modernise it but that is just the exterior. internally some cosmetic work has been done to the bar, restaurant and reception. once one passes reception into the... more

Spent night at the Celtic Ross with my boyfriend. On arrival the receptionist failed to inform us that there was a wedding reception being held at the hotel that evening, this would not have normally bothered us if we had not been placed in a room on the first floor! Having returned from a restaurant in the local village (which... more

We stayed in the Celtic Ross for a weekend in October to get away from the city. It was exactly what we were looking for, the staff were lovely, very generous helpings with the food in both the bar and restaurant and it was lovely to wake up in the morning over looking the bay. The location was also perfect... more

Public rooms are very good food reasonable staff helpful and polite. Bathroom/toilet extraction fan not working. Brochure list a bay view room but omits that this is across a busy main road and is actually a muddy estury flooding at high tide. no sight of the sea. Very strong smell when wind was in the west we were told came... more

First holiday in Ireland for years. West Cork is well worth a visit. Rosscarbery is very picturesque. Warren beach nearby is a very clean sandy beach with a lifeguard present. Good base for touring West Cork. Very good hotel but a little pricey. There were five of us, two adults and three children. I booked a room for three and... more

Eating in the bar - even with my own child - was indescribable. It seemed that all of the families (including us) were herded into one area. The noise, the mess, were awful but the staff took it all in their stride. Food was good but pricey. Restaurant staff were so unbusy that they were over eager to remove plates... more
