Though the location is convenient to walking central Dublin, the noise of the street and the bright street light made the stay less than restful. Friendly staff. We had our first "Irish breakfast" here, so we hadn't yet tired of eggs and bacon. more

An amazing honeymoonThough the location is convenient to walking central Dublin, the noise of the street and the bright street light made the stay less than restful. Friendly staff. We had our first "Irish breakfast" here, so we hadn't yet tired of eggs and bacon. more
The Anchor in in the City Center along a row of similar properties. It's a bit long in the tooth and very basic. However, the very friendly staff make up for that several times over. If your looking for posh this isn't for you but it's a comfortable stay. more
The Anchor was great. We only stayed one night in Dublin, but we wanted to stay longer. The Anchor has a great location, within walking distance to most of the attractions in Dublin. They had secure parking behind the house, which was a BIG plus in the city center. The only catch is that you have to specifically request it... more
Ditto for just about everything everyone else has commented on in their reviews. Central bus station one block away; Tara train station 2-3 blocks away. Rooms at front of building are older, but I believe are bigger than annex rooms. Double beds are King size. We had window open and could hear late evening noise from people walking nearby, but... more
I stayed there recently with the my friend. I have stayed in many other contries as tourist in similar type of B§B-s, but this little guest house was outstanding. The room and the shower attached was big enough for two, very clean, done daily, towels changed etc. For breakfast only 4 choices were available, but the ladies serving it added... more
My wife and I went to Dublin in January as a holiday tagged onto the end of a business trip. The accommodation in Dublin is pretty expensive so we went hunting in the B&Bs section and found this gem. The Anchor Guest House is close to the main bus station and Connolly Street station, and only a little walk (5-10mins)... more
Overall I really enjoyed my stay at the Anchor Guesthouse. The staff were incredibly friendly and they have 24 hour reception, so you don't have to worry if your flight gets in late. Breakfast was delicious and you do have some choices on the menu. In terms of location, it wasn't exactly in the middle of things, but it was... more
A very friendly and warm 'irish' welcome from the extremely helpful staff who seem to go out of their way to be of assistance. The Anchor Guest House is in a great location to see Dublin city centre as everything is in easy walking distance. We were situated in the back of the hotel and our room was excellent. Clean... more
My friend and I stayed at the Anchor Guesthouse at the end of February 2008. Lower Gardiner street is a good location for getting around Dublin City centre and the Anchor Guesthouse did look like the best hotel on that Street. We booked via the hotel website. All staff were very friendly and helpful. We had a room on the... more
I stayed in this B&B for two nights. The location could not be better, close to O'Connell Street, restaurants, shopping etc and adjacent to bus and luas links. The staff were very welcoming and could not have been more helpful. I travelled with my disabled mother and the staff went out of their way to help us - swapping our... more
