My father had been transfered to the Mater Hospital in Dublin and I stumbled on this accommodation. The staff and owner in particular were fantastic. We stayed about 10 nights altogether. The rooms are fine and just what you need for an overnight in Dublin. The location is great for the Hospital and good for Crooke Park and other attractions.... more
The service was amazing. We got in early the first day, before check-in, and they let us store our luggage until later. Also, we had a very early flight out the day we left, and they had breakfast (with coffee!) ready for us at 4am so we could eat before we left. I've never experienced such great service. Our room... more
Booking, welcoming, service: + Very smooth and friendly Room: We were in room no. 53 in the garden wing. - Rather small. Some strange odor when you come into the room. We did not find out what it was, but probably had something to do with the coat rack. When you were in the room you did not smell it... more
A week ago we spent two nights at Charlesville Lodge and I must say - it was really disappointing! This is an old inn with really bad and unconfortable beds. The matress was even disrupted. The room was crap and a total rip-off! It was tiny, barely enough room to walk around the bed. It definitely needed a fresh coat... more

I was so pleased with the Charleville Lodge and was relieved after reading some negative comments. The location was fine. It took us only 15 to get to the city center and I enjoyed the walk. I also liked the area as there were many pubs, cafes and shops within 5 minutes of the hotel. Someone wrote that there were... more
we have just returned from a long weekend at Charleville Lodge. We had an excellent stay and would return without a doubt! Although the rooms are basic, they have everything you need from a bed to an en-suite and even a plasma TV! The breakfast was lovely and the reception desk very friendly. We caught the number 10 opposite the... more
A friend and I spent 14 nights at the Charleville. Overall I very much enjoyed it. We arrived extremely early on our first day and were offered to leave our luggage if we wanted to go out, to nap in the sitting room, or to have breakfast. The breakfast, although redudant after a while, was very tasty and the price... more

Overall, your comments were complimentary and I was delighted with this. I also appreciated your thoughts with regards to the downfalls mentioned. We will look closely at...
I have stayed in the Charville on three occasions now and have mixed emotions about the experience. I am almost reluctent to write about my problems having just read a lengthily rant left by a manager or staff member about a negative review on the site - but I hope this will be taken as constructive critisism. Firstly I must... more
