The Abbott Lodge is located only 5 mins from the sphere in O'Connell St, very near to where the airport buses drop you off. Temple Bar is just over the river and there are plenty of pubs and restaurants on the way! Most bars have live music in the evenings. The guest house is quite small, and a good price... more

I knew I was staying in a budget hotel so I was willing to over look the dust on the lamps, and the slight mold in the shower, and the general worn look of it all.But that wasn't all. We were checked into room 101, not a bad size actually, It has two bedrooms, But the head board fell over... more

My partner & I stayed in this guest house for 2 nights in April. The location is excellent no need for taxis in & out of Dublin only 5 minutes walk to O'Connell street 10-15 mins to Grafton street & Temple Bar plus the bus terminal was only 5 mins walk away. Room was a double room with shower &... more

It was cheaper than most places in Dublin...and it's cheaper for a reason. It's basic...and generally clean. The bedding was clean. The bathroom was grubby. Thankfully I had my flip-flops which I wore in the shower!! The telephone in the room didn't work...and the heating was switched off...so we had to ask for it to be turned on...as it was... more

We were booked in to stay at 'Browns', next door, which according to the previous reviews was a good thing we didn't. Abbott Lodge was clean, staff were friendly, helpful, facilities were more than adequate - to include a tv, heairdryer, nice shower room. We had to climb alot of stairs to get to our room, so it's not suitable... more

1st impression looked good in entrance hall. we had room 122 which overlooked the main road, then wondered where traffic noise came from ? large spaces on either side of window frames which were so old they had rotted ! large amounts of hair on bedroom carpet & some ones used cotton wool in bottom drawer they had used as... more

The AbbottLodge is okay, and good value for money. Staff was friendly. Rooms have toilet and shower. They aren't big but big enough. Breakfast was okay. Cereal, Irish breakfast, juice, coffee. The Abbottlodge is located at the north side of the city centre and there are a lot of other hotels, b&b's and hostels at the same street. I felt... more

Rooms very good, comfortable, nobody bothers you. Very quiet despite being next to the dining area. Breakfast menu is very basic, though portions are more than adequate. Staff helpful, but don't expect riveting conversation. One small quibble. On the day we checked out, the owner, at least I think he was the owner, made a big fuss because I had... more

This was booked by a friend without referance to Trip Adviser! We were allocated room 108, it was a Double but was the size of a large cupboard, with a very uneven floor with a large hole covered by carpet. It was at the front of the building and the traffic noise through the night was terrible, supplemented by the cries... more

The Abbott Lodge.....Horrid. After a 20 minute trek from O'Connell Street to the Abbott Lodge the appearance of the B&B isn't to bad, however don't judge a book by it's cover. After arriving a few hours early, we asked if we could check in early, only to be told that our room was not ready until after 14.00, we had... more
