I flew into Galway on Tuesday. Got my taxi straight to the Imperial hotel which is a the top of eyre square where i recievded a extemly friendly welcome from. All th e staff were extemly nice and the newly remodernised rooms were very nice. All the food i ate there was to die for. So over it was a... more

The imperial hotel is situated right in the centre of Galway City, only a moment walk from the train station. The location of this place is perfect for a traveller wishing to explore Galway City and surrounds. BUT WE WERE NOT HAPPY ... Quite simply we found this place bad value for money. Although the rooms were quite spacious and nicely... more

We stayed in this hotel before the refurb and it was fine, but now it is excellent I have to say. Modern contemporary look our room was a good size with a king bed, air con, flat scree TV. Bedroom and bathroom were fresh looking and very clean. Breakfst was a buffet, very good selection and moved to the first... more

Have been visiting Galway for many years and stayed in the old Imperial. I have to say the refurb is the bees knees and have lifted the hotel into the 21st century while keeping the friendliness of staff along with that famous late bar :-)). Will definitely be back again soon for more of the craic! more

I would have to rubbish the bad reviews, this hotel is great! We had firstly booked into the Eyre Square Hotel but when we went to confirm the booking we found that they had no record of us at all which was ridiculous. When we rang the Imperial and told them our story they offered us a very reasonable rate.... more

City centre hotel in Galway. Entrance is adjacent to a grubby bar which is part of the hotel. Tortuous route through endless corridors to the room. Furnishings and decor very tired. One small window to rear overlooking roof ventilation units etc with associated noise. No air con so had to leave window open. No room safe in room so no... more

If you want to experience an authentic "old Irish" hotel, the Imperial is great! The rooms were very nice, very clean, and the same size as anywhere else (don't know what the reviewer was referring to who complained that the room was small) There were 30 of us staying there and no one had a too-small room. The Imperial reminded... more

This has got to be the worst hotel I've every stayed in. €75 ahead sharing for a room that you couldn't swing a cat in. I had to step into the bathroom in order to open the bedroom door to get out. If you are clostraphoic this is not the place to stay, in fact if your not clostraphobic it's... more

I have just returned from a New Year break with three friends in Galway. After reading the reviews on this Website, I looked to see if I could change to another hotel. With it being New Year, everywhere else was fully booked. I decided to 'tough it out' and prepared my friends for the worst!! Upon arriving at the hotel... more
