we stayed in the Abbey Gate last weekend as part of an organised charity group, the rooms were very spacious and clean (unlike some of the closets ive stayed in before) i had breakfast in bed ON TIME and it was warm, check-in-out was fast and all our details were correct as far our reservations were concerened.. to say the... more
have stayed in abbeygate often over last 10 years,up to about 4 years ago it was good, but sad to say now its terrible.. location is excellent, right in middle of tralee, one can walk to all attractions. parking is awful, why they dont come to some arrangement with multi storey car park is downright silly?? guests should get free parking there.... rooms now... more
I stayed in the Abbeygate Hotel as part of a tour group last week and i have to say it was an enjoyable experience, Firstly upon our arrival we were greeted at the hotel door by the manager before entering the reception area, a beautifully decorated area with a really homely atmosphere, considering there were 37 of us in the... more
I stayed at this hotel for two nights in August as part of a tour group. The room itself was ok and clean enough, however, the following has led to this rating: 1. Had a number of problems with the room including no towels, room dirty, old beds, (also not the room we reserved-we asked for double but got twin) and, pillowcases and sheet were dirty. We... more
Stayed there for 2 nights in August. Rooms were below average once you got the door open. Beds obviously old, mattress had many visible loose springs. Phone in room did not work, neither did the payphone in the lobby that many employees saw me trying to use and when I enquired they were all fully aware it didn't work. Loud... more
This hotel would be very good on a room only basis as room was spacious and clean. It is well located in the centre of Tralee. The staff were generally friendly but some lacked training. Breakfast was chaos, table not ready once in the six day stay. Quality of food was adequate. The evening meals in the Bistro were well... more
Location - Fantastic it couldn't have been better walking distance to the main shopping area and museums in Tralee Parking - Dreadful only about 20 spaces available - poor access for unloading luggage Breakfast - Very Disappointing, tables all dirty, tremendously understaffed long wait for a table eventhough there were no other patrons in the dining room Manager was over... more
