Actually, I suppose grim is a little unfair- you gets what you pay for (or what the comapny pays for on business) but I would really advise paying a bit more. Stayed at the Travelodge on a night out. Hotel was basic, cheap and clean. Was everything we expected. Nothing fancy. One thing I would warn people about is there is no parking attached to the hotel. We stayed at the Travelodge in Peterborough city centre for one night as part of my birthday celebration weekend which saw us visit York as well. The only reason we stopped in Peterborough was because the train was far cheaper to overnight, basically costing us £5pp single from Norwich to Peterborough. I'm not going to start off by slagging off Peterborough but I was perplexed when I found out that every hotel in Peterborough was jam packed on a Wednesday night?!?!? Why???
