Stayed here while attending a friends wedding locally. In general you have a typical average business hotel which has grown and expanded in all directions. Room was very reasonably priced and in good condition but a fair 5 minute walk to reception and the car park. We had breakfast on both mornings and can pretty much say it was the... more

I stayed here one night before a training event. The hotel is situated on a corner close to three major roads, so lots of traffic noise. It's also way out in the suburbs, so unless you've got a car, you've only got the hotel for leisure and entertainment. There is a good pool and fitness centre and the main rooms... more

My boyfriend and I stayed here for a weekend break. The front desk and reception area were smart and checking in was easy enough, but did have to wait a few mins to check in, as our room was not ready yet - we got there after 2pm. We were in room 213, and the room was small, but nothing... more

We decided to book our stay in the Apollo, as we had personally been told how great it was, as well as reading Tripadvisor reviews. On first impression, the Hotel seemed to lack atmosphere or character, it was clean & orderly, but dull and bland. Our room was adequate. There was only one extra pillow. I rang to request another,... more

This is an excellent hotel with really helpful and friendly staff. We hired the function room which was both spacious and clean as well as being really private, so there was not a problem with other hotel guests wandering in. The breakfast room is both light and spacious with a good variety of hot and cold food. The staff were... more

Hotel rooms average but only free view channels. Water pressure in shower very good. Hotel breakfast was the worst I have ever experienced. The pastries were rock hard and inedible, The coffee tasted like instant, the cheese platter consisted of prewrapped cheese portions (think babybel) and next to no fruit. No bread choices other than pre-sliced toast. I would not... more

This is the kind of place that probably welcomes business travelers because they won't be as critical as people spending their own money. At their quoted prices it would be scandalously overpriced - at discounted online prices it still doesn't mean value for money. I've now stayed here twice on business - Jan and Aug 2007 - each time for... more

We booked the Apollo Hotel for a short break away back in June. Having just moved house, we were really looking forward to a few days away from it all. Unfortunately, we were quite disappointed with our stay. The room was really small (described on the Apollo's website as their 'executive' room). Yes, it did contain all the furniture as... more

I stayed here for a week on business and found it a pleasure. I had a suite to myself, as had my colleagues. The food and staff in the hotel were excellent, and a taxi to town was only £4. The leisure facilities were very good for a small hotel. Only 3 issues were - The televisions in the room... more

Booked into the hotel for one night - going out somewhere else & really just using the place as a bed for the night. Just as well, as it's not a very inspiring location or hotel. It is clean, though, and the lounge is reasonably appointed & is usually well-staffed. Breakfast was a major problem, however - having come down... more
