We arrived mid after noon, checked in and went to our room 209. the room have a very strange smell and was small and basic. the trouser press fell of the wall as my wife brushed past it. i found a porn magazine in one the drawers!!! the windows have secondary double glazing which slide open, in the space between... more

Oh dear, although the Midlands is up north, in Lancaster things got much worse with this place, how depressing. Small old fashion rooms, musty smells, cigeratte burns in the duvet, where do you start. Certainly not up to scratch to be honest, breakfast was in an old fashion ballroom, but the food was not the best I've tasted. There are... more

I know Lancaster well having been a student there decades ago. The Kings Arms was faded and shabby genteel back in the early 1980s and doesn't seem to have been updated since. Location is good, but that's about it. Poor linens. Room small and fusty. Peculiar smell from the drain of the sink in the bathroom. Clueless staff - who... more

I stayed here for one night in a single room. When I arrived, slightly early, my original room wasn't ready for the receptionist changed me to a room that was ready so i could go and freshen up. The room was tiny, barely 6ft by 8ft, yet the ensuite was twice the size! However, I'd requested a quiet room and... more

Arrived at the Kings hotel and found parking very easy. Staff at reception were nice and pleasant and no problems checking in. The lift up to my room was tiny and quite scary!! It's one of the old cage lifts (like a goods lift), where you have to pull the 2 doors closed and it judders and squeaks when moving.... more

We stayed at the Royal Kings Arms for a wedding in October. Having read the reviews, I knew exactly what to expect, but chose this hotel because of its location to the wedding reception, and limited availability at other hotels. It’s very central, which is a plus, but the hotel really does need a make-over… About Britain.com says it has... more

Stayed here for 2 nights. Booked a double room for £65 per night. The car park is small but we had no problem parking, the staff were helpful and curtious. The room was small and at the front on the busy main road outside which was so noisy it kept us awake. Opening the door hit the wardrobe and the... more

The hotel was clean and basic, and in a great location. A kettle along with coffee, milk etc. was also provided which was very welcome at times. However, when I checked in I was directed to one room which I couldn't easily unlock to start, which was then unsuitable when I gained access. The second room I was then directed... more
