Just returned from a 5 night stay at Le Bon Laboureur. What a massive disappointment! Staff either mildly friendly or haughty in the extreme. Didn't feel very valued. Food average at best or below on some occasions and certainly didn't merit a Michelin rosette. Felt it was trading on past glories but other guests were fawning so maybe my standards... more

Upon arrival, excellent appearance, it will be the same during our three days from the beginning to the end. Tiny room, very pleasant pool, famous french cuisine. more

Here’s a brief summary of my trip to the Bon Laboureur in Chenonceaux. The primary purpose of our visit was to try one of the best Loire Valley restaurant… absolutely right. Perfection from the beginning to the end. Don’t forget also to read a gorgeous wine list. Our room n°22, ground floor, garden side was spacious with great furniture and... more

My husband and I have just returned from a trip to the Loire Valley for a friend's wedding. Luckily, we were only booked into this hotel for one night. The place itself is beautiful. It is very happily located in a pictureseque little village, and the rooms are faultless. Our problem was with the attitude of the staff. There were... more

This is a lovely little hotel in an equally lovely village! Our room was very pleasant, a reasonable size, light and comfortable with good air conditioning. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. The restaurant was a delight as was the food which was superb; we thought the set menue excellent value and the wine reasonably priced. Our small dog was... more

We return year after year, sometimes twice a year for a short stay and find the family and staff charming. The restaurant is excellent and reliable Micheline 1 star. We look forward to our return. more

And we really appreciated our stay in a small inn "Le Bon Laboureur" . We enjoyed our room, the loundge and the sunny terrace and we appreciated especially the restaurant, food was... more

Don't be deterred by the 4-star rating. We got a good rate through Priceline for their most basic room, which was fit for royalty. The staff could not have been nicer. The lodgings, gardens, and restaurant were all tastefully appointed in a way which made you never want to leave. You can walk to Chenonceau Castle or hop in a... more

Beautiful, quaint hotel, clean, in a tiny rural village with a very significant Chateau. A curb in the shower would be helpful to keep the bathroom floor from flooding. The hotel dining room does not offer a lunch service. The four of us decided to go to the local grocery store and buy lunch (mostly bread and cheeses) and seeing... more
