This hotel has beautiful tropical gardens with a lovely view of the snowcapped Teide Volcano, friendly service, and is located in a quiet area away from downtown Puerto de la Cruz, but with easy access to the beach via shuttle bus or taxi (one can walk, as well, but it's uphill all the way to come back). You definitely want... more

Having arrived here with my wife at 23.00 hrs 25/04/08 we were promptly dropped off the bus and left. After trundling cases down the stairs we were greeted by a frosty receptionist who offered no help what so ever. Show me your passports and you go here to the dreaded room 47. No outlook, below road level, get ready in... more

After reading a previous warning about ground floor rooms I asked our travel agent (internet and, granted, at the last minute) to make this an important point in booking this 'hotel' ie not the ground floor! Blithely disregarding other red flags we fetched up on the rocks of the reception. Given directions to our block by one of the dollys... more

The pool area and gardens were nice, and the food in the restaurant was fine, but the room was more like that of a 2* hotel than a 4*: It was uncomfortable to sit in the room in the evening to watch TV • There was only one chair, in front of the desk, and no space to move it... more

Our ground floor 3 bed room was the biggest ever, 28 feet long from front door to patio, it seemed newly refurbished as everything looked new. The maids had made a beautiful origami style swan out of a towel & placed it on the bed with flowers. Also a bowl of fruit & bottle of complimentary wine. We were well... more

We booked a last minute deal through Thomas Cook and within 5 hours of booking were on our way to the airport for our honeymoon! We arrived at the north of the island, pleasantly suprised by the landscape, and were encouraged by the initial sight of the hotel. It has very well looked after gardens with examples of flora from... more

Popular with pensioners on long-term stay. Efficient buffet meals - as much as you could eat, but rather predictable after the first few days. Attractive grounds and swimming pool. Surrounding streets unexciting but local buses stop right outside the hotel. A programme of activities was on show but we saw no evidence of them, except for the 'orchestra' which was... more

Read a few reviews and were a little worried. No reason though, we had the best holiday we have had in years!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Stayed for 10 days in Jan. 2008 and we`ve just booked to go back in Feb. for another 14 days. There was a large German contingent, but if people looked a little deeper into Tenerife`s first holiday resort... more

Just spent a week at the Sol Parque which is in a good location, has clean and comfortable accommodation but would question the four star rating in comparison to other very similar holidays. The decor is tired and the food repetitive and often poor in quality. The hotel sits in beautiful gardens and if you exit via the back gate,... more
