Me and my partner have stayed at this hotel twice. The only thing i can agree with in the bad reviews about this hotel is the dated decor, but surely the colour of the wallpaper isnt what you went there for. The service is always good. The staff are polite and will help you however they can. The food in... more

Dear friends, I am a journalist and I have just spent 10 days in Madrid, invited by the Spanish Embassy of Buenos Aires to cover the Cibeles Fashion Week. During all this period, I was lodged in the Miguel Angel Hotel and everything was great until the last day of my stay. I even wanted to write a good comment... more

I'm a business traveler and stayed at Miguel Angel Hotel to be closer to attractions. That perhaps, is the best thing about the hotel, the location. It's convenient to the metro and within walking distance (long walk) to central attractions. However, my room was seedy; stained/worn carpeting and furniture...rather depressing. The hotel restaraunt was pricey and the fare nothing special.... more

This was a group visit for a 3 night stay in Madrid. We booked the hotel via airmiles website (not using any "miles") and received a good offer of 3 nights for price of two, B&B. It cost us around £140 a head and if you check out other sites or the hotel itself you will see that it was... more

I have stayed at this hotel several times. The good points for me are that the hotel is right beside an underground station. Also, the staff have always been very friendly when i have stayed here. I find the cafe in the foyer area to be extremely comfy and a nice place to meet colleagues or simply to read the... more

I booked this hotel expecting to get a first class, secure, comfortable, luxurious hotel. Also, we wanted to have a pool. Little did I know that the pool hours are only from 10:00 - 6:00, which rendered it useless for us since we wanted to see the city during the day and enjoy the pool in the evening. We did... more

This hotel made my stay in Madrid very enjoyable. Found the front desk staff to be very accommodating and extremely helpful. They held my luggage for a late train without any charge thus allowing me to see the city. This location is right next to a Metro stop making it convenient for getting around. Though minutes away from downtown, it... more

The Occidental Miguel Angel is not in the town centre, which really was a blessing. There is a metro station just outside the door, which meant that we could get anywhere we wanted without any effort, but could sleep in blissful silence, without the traffic noises and questionable pedestrian hordes. The spa/pool area is lovely, although one must question why... more

Stayed here for a weekend. Food was very good. Room was very nice. And we both really enjoyed the spa and pool. On my next visit to Madrid, I will stay here again. more

We are sad to report that the Miguel Angel will not be our choice of choices when returning to Madrid. We travel to Madrid 4-5 times annually and have stayed at 3 Star Hotels that are much nicer. All in all the place is shabby and in great need of renovation. The decor is 1970's and even for european standards... more
