We just returned from a 7 night stay at the Regina Hotel in Madrid. The location is excellent. It is an easy walk to both the Royal Palace area and the Prado Museum area. Puerto del Sol is a two minute walk, which is where we were able to catch a direct subway line to either train station for day... more

Great central location - we could walk everywhere we needed to go. The rooms we were given (3 single travellers) were dreadful. They stank of smoke and one was uninhabitable due to being above the kitchen and the smell of food was overpowering. The rooms themselves were like something time forgot. I seem to remember sticking to the carpet. Extremely... more

We stayed in the Hotel Regina the last part of our stay, and wished we had stayed there the whole time! The rooms are clean, with a lot of character. You are within walking distance of most sights and museums. The double decker bus stop is just across the street. Also, the price was right. I was most impressed by... more

We stayed here in October for 3 nights and found that the location was very good. The breakfast was also fine but the double room was very small and cramped with well worn carpets. It was also gloomy as it looked onto a back yard type of space. Hotel staff were quite indifferent. I asked to book a transfer to... more

This large hotel is in a great location. You can walk to world famous art galleries in twenty minutes; it's close to the subway and the very lovely and wonderful Retiro Park. Thick trees line the main boulevard. Three different double-decker open topped tourist bus lines run through the city, the leaves literally traveling just feet above your head .... more

Just return from 5 nights at the Regina. On arrival given room 325 , on entering room found very hot, tried air conn to no avail, opened windows to find we were on third floor over kitchens, smell of food awful. Went to reception who advised hotel full for night, but would move us tomorrow as only 13.00 hrs and... more

I had spent a lot of time searching different websites, trying to find the perfect hotel. I eventually came across the Hotel Regina. I was pleasantly surprised with this hotel. The location is perfect; right on the same road as the Puerto del sol and the Sevilla metro stop is right outside. The met is the perfect way to get... more

It's one of the few places I could find with four beds in a room (2 adults and 2 children). There is one part of the hotel that is newer and another part that is older not renovated. My wife was disappointent with an older room given the price we paid, but hey this is Madrid and the Euro. I... more

Madrid is known to be difficult for people who don't speak Spanish, and we didn't. Hotel stuff knew enough English to make our dealing with them not overly difficult. They didn't ask if we wanted 2 beds or 1 so we ended up with the wrong one. Hallways and lobby are nice and clean. Our room had a really nice... more
